  1. The weather files on \WTHR directory are compressed WYEC data for
  2. Pittsburgh (PITT.DAT), MINNEAPOLIS (MPLS.DAT), AND NASHVILLE (NASH.DAT)
  3. used in calculating handbook factors.  Each file contains 1 day of 
  4. preconditioning data preceding 4 days of data representing the month for
  5. each of the twelve months beginning with January.  The preconditioning
  6. day of weather data is a duplicate of the 1st day of data for each month.
  7. The parameter NDPRE in the file CONTROL.DAT should be = 1 when these data 
  8. are used.  A value of 0 was used for the sample problem, so identical weather
  9. is used for each day of the two day sample run.

  11. The WYEC data for many cities are available on floppy disk from ASHRAE.

  13. These weather data files were compressed with the Nall-Arens compression
  14. routine, ARENS.FOR.  See the batch file, RUNARENS.BAT, for information
  15. about running the ARENS.FOR program. The source file, ARENS.FOR, has a
  16. good description of variables, and gives the ref. for NALL-ARENS
  17. compression approach.
