Uncompress all the files in GUS0016 into your current UltraSound
directory (C:\ULTRASND is the default). Now run SETGUS.
2.0.0 About this version of SETGUS
==================================
SetGUS version 2.00 replaces the old SETUP which shipped with the V1.20
through V1.21 disk sets. There have been many changes including:
■ Diagnostics
■ Log file of all changes and results placed in SETGUS.LOG
■ Verify your choices for compatibility
■ Different setup levels depending on the users knowledge of computers
■ Mouse support
■ Less hardware 'snooping' which use to cause lockups on some computers
2.1.0 Default Settings
----------------------
I/O Address: 220
Playbck DMA Channel: 1
Record DMA Channel: 1
SoundBlaster DMA Channel: 1 Can NOT be changed
UltraSound IRQ: 12
SoundBlaster/MIDI IRQ: 7
2.2.0 Manually Installing
-------------------------
You will find a file called GTEK18.TXT in GUS0016.ZIP. This is a tech
note written by us which explains in detail the changes that are made
to your AUTOEXEC.BAT. It was originally intended for the old
SETUP.EXE but still applies to SETGUS.EXE
2.3.0 Reading SETGUS.LOG
------------------------
To better help you diagnose possible conflicts this version of SETGUS
creates a log file called SETGUS.LOG. This file explains all changes
made and wether or not those changes are valid.
What follows is an example SETGUS.LOG file. If you do not see the
word PASSED then it means those settings failed and you should re-start
SETGUS and try different settings. The usuall reason for problems
is conflicts with other hardware devices. In most cases the default
settings should work.
