inspection, it is fully operable and no fee is charged for its use.

the manual for erasing this data and loading your own. A complete manual
can be printed on your printer. Most of the information in the manual
is available "ON SCREEN" via the Help screens.
A Site License is required if you intend to use this software on more

These licenses are inexpensive and it assures you of support on these
additional machines as well as compensating me for my time.
Custom modification of existing software is available from the author
at reasonable costs.

GETTING YOU STARTED:
This software is designed to be run on an IBM or IBM compatible
computer with DOS 3.0 or later, 640k memory and a hard drive. Source
code of the software is written in CLIPPER (Nantucket Corp.)
and dBASE III (Aston-tate Inc.). Limitation of data storage is
determined by the space on your hard disk. Compression utility used
on programs and files by Pkware Inc.
The disk or disks you have received MUST BE LOADED ONTO A HARD DISK
PRIOR TO USING THE PROGRAM. All the files have been compressed to
save space and must be decompressed during installation.
1. There is a program on the disk that will install the Recipe Management
Software onto your hard disk, all you need to know is the character
designation of the hard disk (C: or D: normally).
2. Place the disk in your A: or B: floppy drive.
3. Type A: or B: then the <ENTER> key.
4. Your floppy drive prompt should appear ie. A:>
5. Type INSTALL C: then the <ENTER> key. (C: being the hard disk
you want the program installed on).
6. Follow the instructions on the screen.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN:
The install program will create a sub directory called "RM" on your
hard disk. Then it will copy the contents of the disk onto the sub
directory. Finally it decompresses the files.
WHAT IS NEXT?:
Type RM then the <ENTER> key. (This starts the program.)
The main menu will appear with the Cursor resting on "Recipe File
Routines". Move to the selection called "DATA FILES" by pressing the
right arrow key. Press <ENTER> key.
Move to "SORT & SETUP" with the down arrow key. Press <ENTER> key.
The Cursor is resting on "INDEX FILES" . Press <ENTER> key.
The Cursor is now resting on "HEADER/NAME FILE" ... Press <ENTER> key.
Wait until prompt says "Completed"
Repeat the last step for "INGREDIENTS", "RESOURCE", & "EXPENSE ITEM"
then press <ESC> key three times to return to the main menu. You have
just indexed the four main data files and learned how to move around
the program.
SUGGESTIONS:
At Main Screen, "User Help"; you can print copies of the MANUAL by
selecting "Print Info". This document is designed to print on both
sides of the paper so you can place them in a three ring binder.
Feed one sheet of continuous paper through printer and set "Top of
Page" with the print head located two lines below the fold of the
second sheet.
WHEN READY TO START YOUR OWN SET OF RECIPES ... CLEAN OUT SAMPLE FILES
At the DOS prompt type "NEWDATA" and make sure you set the proper PATH
in the SETUP section for the Inventory data files.
