  13.      The Recipe Manager automates your complete recipe file, provides for 
  14.      Yield Adjustment and Costing of recipes.  Current cost data is accessed
  15.      from First Step Software's Inventory Software data base.

  18.                    This is a Shareware distributed product. 
  19.  
  20.      Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. The 
  21.      Shareware product is your best guarantee; because if you don't use it, 
  22.      you don't pay for it. This UNREGISTERED COPY is for your trial 
  23.      inspection, it is fully operable and no fee is charged for its use. 
  24.      If you continue to use this software for more than 90 days you are
  25.      required to become a registered user. Registered users receive the 
  26.      following:

  73.        1. RECIPE FILE functions include:
  74.          a. Entry and Edit of Recipe HEADER, INGREDIENTS AND METHOD 
  75.             INSTRUCTIONS
  76.          b. Printing of Recipe with standard yield.
  77.          c. Printing of complete Master Index of all Recipes in file.

  79.        2. COST ANALYSIS functions include:
  80.          a. Operator can cost a Recipe at any time and have the most current
  81.             costs of products reflected in the computation.
  82.          b. Operator can also elect to cost all Recipes in the file and print
  83.             an abbreviated report listing these costs.

  85.        3. MANAGEMENT TOOLS:
  86.          a. Recipe Yield can be ADJUSTED up or down to any quantity and 
  87.             printed. This process is very fast and the results are expressed 
  88.             in terms any cook can understand. 
  89.          b. A RESOURCE FILE containing weight and measure equivalants is 
  90.             supplied with the software and can be added to or edited by the 
  91.             operator. This file is automatically accessed when entering a new
  92.             Recipe and helps the operator set the cost factor.
  93.          c. The Master Inventory Item File is also accessible from the Recipe
  94.             Management Software.

  96.        4. FAST USER FRIENDLY MENU SCREENS: 
  97.          a. Operator can FIND Recipes and other data via fast Alpha or Numeric
  98.             SEARCH routines. 
  99.          b. Help Screens are a keystroke away and provide quick help for the
  100.             operator.

  102.        This software comes to you with sample data already stored in the 
  103.        files so that you can see how it functions. There are instructions in 
  104.        the manual for erasing this data and loading your own. A complete manual
  105.        can be printed on your printer.  Most of the information in the manual 
  106.        is available "ON SCREEN" via the Help screens.

  109.      A Site License is required if you intend to use this software on more 
  110.      than one computer in your organization or if you plan on using it on a 
  111.      network. 
  112.      These licenses are inexpensive and it assures you of support on these 
  113.      additional machines as well as compensating me for my time.

  115.      Custom modification of existing software is available from the author
  116.      at reasonable costs.

  138.      GETTING YOU STARTED:
  139.      This software is designed to be run on an IBM or IBM compatible 
  140.      computer with DOS 3.0 or later, 640k memory and a hard drive. Source 
  141.      code of the software is written in CLIPPER (Nantucket Corp.) 
  142.      and dBASE III (Aston-tate Inc.). Limitation of data storage is 
  143.      determined by the space on your hard disk. Compression utility used 
  144.      on programs and files by Pkware Inc. 
  145.      The disk or disks you have received MUST BE LOADED ONTO A HARD DISK
  146.      PRIOR TO USING THE PROGRAM. All the files have been compressed to 
  147.      save space and must be decompressed during installation.
  148.      1. There is a program on the disk that will install the Recipe Management
  149.         Software onto your hard disk, all you need to know is the character 
  150.         designation of the hard disk (C: or D: normally).
  151.      2. Place the disk in your A: or B: floppy drive. 
  152.      3. Type A: or B:   then the  <ENTER> key. 
  153.      4. Your floppy drive prompt should appear ie.   A:> 
  154.      5. Type  INSTALL C:  then the <ENTER> key. (C: being the hard disk 
  155.         you want the program installed on).
  156.      6. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  157.      
  158.      WHAT WILL HAPPEN: 
  159.      The install program will create a sub directory called "RM" on your
  160.      hard disk. Then it will copy the contents of the disk onto the sub
  161.      directory. Finally it decompresses the files.
  162.  
  163.      WHAT IS NEXT?:
  164.      Type   RM    then the  <ENTER>  key.  (This starts the program.)
  165.      The main menu will appear with the Cursor resting on "Recipe File
  166.      Routines". Move to the selection called "DATA FILES" by pressing the 
  167.      right arrow key.   Press <ENTER> key.
  168.      Move to "SORT & SETUP" with the down arrow key.  Press <ENTER> key.
  169.      The Cursor is resting on "INDEX FILES" .  Press <ENTER> key.
  170.      The Cursor is now resting on "HEADER/NAME FILE" ... Press <ENTER> key. 
  171.      Wait until prompt says "Completed"
  172.  
  173.      Repeat the last step for "INGREDIENTS", "RESOURCE", & "EXPENSE ITEM" 
  174.      then press <ESC> key three times to return to the main menu. You have 
  175.      just indexed the four main data files and learned how to move around 
  176.      the program.

  178.       SUGGESTIONS:
  179.  
  180.      At Main Screen, "User Help"; you can print copies of the MANUAL by 
  181.      selecting "Print Info". This document is designed to print on both 
  182.      sides of the paper so you can place them in a three ring binder. 
  183.      Feed one sheet of continuous paper through printer and set "Top of 
  184.      Page" with the print head located two lines below the fold of the 
  185.      second sheet.

  188.      WHEN READY TO START YOUR OWN SET OF RECIPES ... CLEAN OUT SAMPLE FILES
  189.      At the DOS prompt type "NEWDATA" and make sure you set the proper PATH
  190.      in the SETUP section for the Inventory data files.

  219.      remuneration must first contact First Step Software for authorization. 
  220.      This authorization will be automatically granted to distributors 
  221.      recognized by the (ASP) as adhering to its guidelines for shareware 
  222.      distributors, and such distributors may begin offering Recipe Management
  223.      immediately (However  First Step Software must still be advised so that 
  224.      the distributor can be kept up-to-date with the latest versions of the
  225.      software.

  228.      your friends.  Please encourage them to register their copy if they 
  229.      find that they can use it.  All registered users will receive a copy of

  254.      agreement shall be brought only in a State or Federal Court of competent 
  255.      jurisdiction located in Ada County, Idaho. The parties hereby consent in 
  256.      personam jurisdiction of said courts.
