VCMOS.COM
If you are not saving your CMOS settings on a recovery diskette
now, you are really looking at some hassle someday. In fact you
are guaranteed to face that hassle when your CMOS battery dies.
(Quick now: what's your hard disk setting?) While there are a
few utilities like this one out there, VCMOS has some important
differences.
o VCMOS will handle "extended" CMOS of 128 bytes if your
machine uses it. You don't need to know: VCMOS will
handle whichever you have.
o VCMOS automatically sets the CMOS to the system clock date
and time upon restore. I find this more convenient than
doing it by some extra rigmarole after the fact. If this
somehow turns out wrong, you can correct it with the normal
DOS "date" and "time" functions.
Enter "VCMOS" for usage.
