`MF Main Help for Central Station Configuration Program
|StationWare Maintenance
This option is used to display and modify StationWare programs installed
in the Central Station. Select this option if you need to add or delete
a StationWare program, or modify a StationWare program's setting.
~01 |Central Station Name/Password
This option is used to enter or change the Central Station name or
password.
~02 |Central Station System Software
This option is used to display or update the current Central Station
system software. Select this option if you need to update or add any
system software. You can also use it to view the name and version
numbers of the system software currently installed the Central Station.
~03 |Cable Type Selection
This option is used to select the active network cable port for the
Central Station.
`CF Central Station Functionality Display
|Current Central Station Configuration
This window displays a list of all the StationWare applications currently
installed in the Central Station. For each program you see its name,
version number, status and the data ports that it uses. Any
modifications that you make to the StationWare program settings are
reflected in this window.
At this point you may add or delete a StationWare program, or modify the
software settings for any of the programs that are already installed.
`NP Central Station Name and Password
|Central Station Name
Select this option to enter or change the Central Station name. Press
<Enter> to view the current name, if any. If desired, you may then type
in a new Central Station name or press <Enter> to accept the current
name.
~01 |Central Station Password
This option lets you enter or change the password for the Central
Station. To use this option, select it then press <Enter>. You are
prompted for the new password. When you type, diamonds () will echo.
`SS Central Station System Software
|Current System Software Versions
Use this option to view the names and version numbers of system software
modules that are currently installed in the Central Station. It also
tells you which system programs are not installed. To use this option,
select it then press <Enter>. A list with the names of system software
and their version numbers appears. If a system program is not installed,
the text "not installed" appears beside the module name instead of a
version number.
~01 |Update System Software Modules
Use this option if you need to upgrade or downgrade one or more system
software modules. Make sure the floppy disk containing the system
software modules is inserted in the disk drive. You can also copy the
file onto your hard disk and run CSCONFIG from there. When you use the
Update System Software Modules option, CSCONFIG updates all of the system
software modules. If the binary file (with an extension .BIN) for a
particular system software module cannot be found in current directory,
or if the binary file is of the same version as the one already in
Central Station, CSCONFIG assumes this module does not need to be
updated. If no errors occur, the system software modules in the Central
Station are updated to the desired version after you press <Enter>.
~02 |Add a System Software Module
Use this option to add a system software module into Central Station.
Press <Enter> to view the system software modules that are available
to add.
`CS Cable Type Selection
|Select a Cable Type
Press <Enter> to toggle the selection to the desired cable type. The
options are: Auto Detect, Twisted Pair and Coax.
`AF StationWare that are available to be added
|Add a StationWare
This window displays the StationWare programs that may be added to your
Central Station. To add one, make sure the floppy disk containing the
StationWare program is inserted in the disk drive, or copy the file
onto your hard disk. You may then select the desired StationWare program
from the list provided and press <Enter> to install it.
`MC Data Port Configuration
|Modify Line Configuration for a Data Port
This window displays the current configuration of a data port for a
StationWare program. You may modify any of these configurations. When
you have specified the desired settings, press Esc to close the window
and save your changes.
|Enable/Disable Status
Use this option to enable or disable the StationWare program. Press
<Enter> to toggle the setting between "Enable" and "Disable."
~01 |Port
Use this option to select a data port. Press <Enter> to toggle the
option between the available ports until the desired port is selected.
~02 |DTE Rate
Use this option to select the rate at which the data will be transferred
between the Central Station and the serial port. To use this option,
select it, then press <Enter>. A menu of DTE rate settings appears.
Select the desired setting and press <Enter>.
~03 |Word Length
Use this option to select the number of bits in each data word sent to or
received from the serial port. A word may be 5, 6, 7 or 8 bits long.
Press <Enter> to toggle the field between settings until the desired word
length appears.
~04 |Number of Stop Bits
Use this option to determine the number of stop bits in each data word
sent to or received by the serial port. Press <Enter> to toggle the
option to either the one stop bit or two stop bits setting.
~05 |Parity
Use this option to specify the parity of each data word. Press <Enter>
to toggle the field to the desired setting. Valid settings are none,
even or odd parity.
~06 |Flow Control
This option is used to set the mode of flow control used. The two modes
that are currently supported are RTS/CTS, and RTS Sync. Press <Enter> to
select the one that is appropriate for your setup.
`DM |Data Port Configuration
|Modify Line Configuration for a Data Port
This window displays the current configuration of a data port for a
StationWare program. You may modify any of the settings listed in this
window. When you have made the desired changes, press Esc to close
the window and save your settings.
|Enable/Disable Status
Use this option to enable or disable the StationWare program. Press
<Enter> to toggle the setting between "Enable" and "Disable."
~01 |Port
Use this option to select a data port. Press <Enter> to toggle the
option between the available ports until the desired port is selected.
~02 |DTE Rate

between the Central Station and the serial port. To use this option,

option, select it then press <Enter>. A menu of modem types appears.
Select the desired modem name and press <Enter>. If the type of modem
that you are using does not appear on the list, select "Unlisted." You
must then refer to your modem manual for the correct settings for the
initialization string.
~05 |Modem Initialization String
This line displays the modem initialization string of the selected modem.
If you select "Unlisted" for the Modem Name field, the word "None" is
shown here. To create or modify the initialization string, press <Enter>
to activate a dialog box in which you can modify the existing string, or
enter a new one. You must then press <Enter> to save your changes, or
Esc to exit without saving.
`BR Select a DTE Rate
|DTE Rate
Use this option to select the rate at which the data will be transferred
between the Central Station and the serial port. To use this option,
select it, then press <Enter>. A menu of DTE rate settings appears.
Select the desired setting and press <Enter>.
`M1 Status of StationWare and Data Ports
|View Status of the StationWare and Data Ports
This window displays the current status of the StationWare program
(enabled or disabled), and the status of the data ports that the program
is set up to use.
|Enable/Disable the StationWare
Use this option to enable or disable the StationWare program. Press
<Enter> to toggle the setting between "Enable" and "Disable."
~01 |LPT1
This option lets you enable or disable the LPT1 port for this StationWare
program. Press <Enter> to toggle the option between "Enable" and
"Disable."
~02 |COM1
This option displays the status of serial port COM1. Press <Enter> to
view and/or modify the configuration of this port.
~03 |COM2
This option displays the status of serial port COM2. Press <Enter> to
view and/or modify the configuration for this port.
`CP Configuration of Serial Ports
|Configuration of COM1 or COM2
Use this window to view and modify the configuration of the serial port
for the StationWare program. After you have made the desired changes,
press Esc to close the window and save your settings.
|Enable/Disable COM1 (COM2)
This option lets you enable or disable the serial port. Press <Enter> to
toggle the option between "Enable" and "Disable."
~01 |DTE Rate
Use this option to select the rate at which the data will be transferred
between the Central Station and the serial port. To use this option,
select it then press <Enter>. A menu of DTE rate settings appears.
Select the desired setting and press <Enter>.
~02 |Word Length
Use this option to select the number of bits in each data word sent to or
received from the serial port. A word may be 5, 6, 7 or 8 bits long.
Press <Enter> to toggle the field between settings until the desired word
length appears.
~03 |Number of Stop Bits
Use this option to determine the number of stop bits in each data word
sent to or received from the serial port. Press <Enter> to toggle the
option to either the one stop bit or two stop bits setting.
~04 |Parity
Use this option to specify the parity of each data word. Press <Enter>
to toggle the field to the desired setting. Valid settings are none,
even or odd parity.
~05 |Flow Control
This option is used to set the flow control mode used. The three modes
that are currently supported are: no flow control, RTS/CTS, and XON/XOFF
mode. Press <Enter> to select the one that is appropriate for your
setup.
`SV |Current System Software Modules
|View Current System Software Modules
This window displays the names of all the system software modules. Those
currently installed in the Central Station have their version numbers
displayed next to their names. Those that are not installed in the
Central Station are labeled "not installed."
`AS |Add a System Software Module
|Add a System Software Module into Central Station
Listed in this window are the names of the system software modules that
are available to be added into Central Station. Only those that are
not currently installed are listed in this window. To add a StationWare
program, select its name from the menu and press <Enter>.
`ML |Modem Name List
|View and Select a Modem
This is a list of modems supported by the Central Station. Select the
type of modem that you are using from the list and press <Enter>. The
new modem name of your choice replaces the original one, if any, and is
displayed on the line entitled "Modem Name" in the Configuration
Modification window. If the type of modem that you are using does not
appear on the list, select "Unlisted." You must then refer to your modem
manual for the correct settings for the initialization string.
`EO |Options for Error Correction
|Options for a Recoverable Error
Options are given when a non-fatal error has been encountered. Two such
errors are:
- A version mismatch between two StationWare programs or a StationWare
and a system software program.
- A conflict between two StationWare modules.
Select the operation that you wish CSCONFIG to perform, then press
<Enter>.
`IH Your Input
|Enter Your Input
In this window you can type the requested information. After doing
so, press <Enter> to save your changes and exit this window. Press Esc
to cancel your changes and exit.
If you are entering a new Central Station name or modem initialization
string, the old setting (if any) is displayed in this window before you
start typing. After you have entered a new name or modem initialization
string and pressed <Enter>, the new information is loaded into the
Central Station.
When setting the Central Station password field, the password is not
displayed. Instead diamonds () will echo for each character you type.
