general, these descriptions repeat information from the magazine articles.) As
always, read "How to Use the Disk" and the corresponding magazine articles
for full instructions before running any programs.

SOLAR.EXE
"SolarPix"
"SolarPix" sets the solar system in motion with a series of astronomical
simulations. It runs on any IBM PC, XT, AT, or compatible with at least 256k
of memory, and a Color/Graphics Adapter or equivalent. (The program won't
run on monochrome systems.) Run the program by entering SOLAR at the DOS
prompt.

This is the source code file for "SolarPix."

STARS.EXE
"Stars"
"Stars" provides an interactive star chart which reveals the locations of 24
major constellations in both the northern and southern hemispheres. It runs
on any IBM PC, XT, AT, or compatible with at least 256k of memory and a
Color/Graphics Adapter or equivalent. (The program won't run on monochrome
systems.) To run the program, enter STARS at the DOS prompt.

This is the source code file for "Stars."

ULTIMA.EXE
"Ultima21" (A "Best of the Boards" program)
This is a self-extracting archive file. To uncompress the file type ULTIMA at
the DOS prompt. The executable file plus the document file are in this archive
file. "Ultima21" is similar to Blackjack or 21. It will run on any IBM PC,
XT, AT, or compatible with at least 256k of memory. It can be used with
monochrome as well as color systems. To run the executable file, type
ULTIMA21 at the DOS prompt. For information on how to play the game, see the
ULTIMA21.DOC file.

"Ultima21"
This is the documentation file for "Ultima21." To read this file, first
uncompress the self-extracting archive file, ULTIMA.EXE, then enter TYPE
ULTIMA21.DOC at the DOS prompt.

MEALMAST.EXE
"Meal-Master" (A "Best of the Boards" program)
This is a self-extracting archive file. To uncompress the file type MEALMAST
at the DOS prompt. The documentation file plus all the files necessary to run
"Meal-Master" are in this archive file. "Meal-Master" is a menu-driven
database system especially created to manage recipes. "Meal-Master" runs on
any IBM PC, XT, or compatible with at least 128K of memory. It works with
monochrome or color systems. To run "Meal-Master," type MM at the DOS
prompt. In order for you to see the sample database, the .MMF files on the
magazine disk must be on the same disk or in the same directory as MM.EXE.
Special note: Since "Meal-Master" opens several files at once, you should
place the command FILES=20 in your CONFIG.SYS file.

"Meal-Master"
"Meal-Master" stores database recipes in these files. If these files are not
found on the disk with MM.EXE when it is run, they will be created during the
setup procedure. You will find these files in the self-extracting archive
file, MEALMAST.EXE.

PARM.MMF
"Meal-Master"
"Meal-Master" stores information such as the forms used to print recipes in
this file. If this file is not found on the disk when MM.EXE is run, a prompt
asks if you want to continue the setup procedure. If you continue, the .MMF
files will be created for you. You will find this file in the self-extracting
archive file, MEALMAST.EXE

CATFILE.MMF
"Meal-Master"
"Meal-Master" stores a list of the valid recipe categories in this file. If
this file is not found on the disk when MM.EXE is run, it will be created
during the setup procedure. You will find this file in the self-extracting
archive file, MEALMAST.EXE.

MM.DOC
"Meal-Master"
This is the documentation file for "Meal-Master." To read this file, first
uncompress the self-extracting archive file, MEALMAST.EXE, then enter TYPE
MM.DOC at the DOS prompt.

PPP.EXE
"Programmable Printer PopUp" (A "Best of the Boards" program)
This is a self-extracting archive file. To uncompress the file, type PPP at
the DOS prompt. The documentation file, five printer definition files, and the
executable file are in this archive file. PPP107.COM is the executable file
for "Programmable Printer PopUp." PPP works on any IBM PC or compatible. It
allows you to send configuration codes to your printer and can be loaded as a
resident utility or executed from the DOS prompt with command line parameters.
See the PPP107.DOC file included on this disk for more information.
Special note: As with any memory-resident program, check to see if PPP causes
any problems before you do any important work while it's resident. Also check
its compatibility with other TSR programs that may be installed.
You should also include the FILES=20 command in your CONFIG.SYS file.

EPSON.PPP, TANDY.PPP, CITIZEN.PPP, P321.PPP, OKIDATA.PPP
"Programmable Printer PopUp"
These are the printer definition files used by "Programmable Printer PopUp."
You may specify the definition file you want to use on the command line or
use the F1 and F2 keys to change the printer definition file. You will find
these files in the self-extracting archive file, PPP.EXE.

"Programmable Printer PopUp"
This is the documentation file for "Programmable Printer PopUp." To read this
file, first uncompress the self-extracting file, PPP.EXE, then enter TYPE
PPP107.DOC at the DOS prompt.

TIMEPARK.EXE
"Timepark" (A "Best of the Boards" program)
This is a self-extracting archive file. To uncompress the file, type TIMEPARK
at the DOS prompt. The documentation file and the executable file are in this
archive file. "Timepark" is a memory-resident program that finds the location
of the safe areas to park the heads of your hard disks. It works with any IBM
PC or compatible computer with a hard drive. To run the program, enter
TIMEPARK N at the DOS prompt. For further instructions, see the documentation
file TIMEPARK.DOC.
Special Note: As with any TSR program, check to make sure "Timepark" doesn't
cause any problems before you do any important work while it's resident. Also
check its compatibility with other memory-resident programs that may be
installed.
