CLOCK VERSION 3.40
CLOCK is a set of related shareware programs that give you complete control
over the calendar (battery-protected) clock and your DOS/BIOS clock. They
provide automatic handling of daylight savings time and time zones, support
many older clocks not supported by later DOS releases, and provide additonal
functions to control your clock environment.
This version adds the M= function for calculating the adjustment needed to
keep your calendar clock accurate. It also adds an expanded help facility
with full explanations of the format of each function and option. The ",C"
is added to the /I option to allow updating read-only files. Two problems
have been fixed: Using the D= function from within Windows can hang your
PC by looping interrupts and CLK now checks for Windows and refuses to
process D= if Windows is operational, A timing Window in CLOCK.SYS could
add days to the date but was only likely to occur when running QEMM in
STEALTH mode or something else that could dramatically affect interrupt
timing.
If uploading to other bulletin boards, please use CLOCK340.EXE as the file
name. I am forced to use CLOCK.EXE on CompuServe because of the 6-character
file name limit, but it does confuse people as to what the version is.
The files included in this release are:
CLK.EXE Executable clock control program
CLK.INI Sample initialization file
CLKDEMO.C Sample C source code for clock control
CLKDEMO.EXE Sample program for clock control
CLKTYP.H Header file with clock type descriptions
CLOCK.DOC CLOCK documentation in a DOS file for online viewing
or direct printing (COPY CLOCK.DOC PRN)
CLOCK.SYS Loadable CLOCK$ device driver
IOCTL.C CLOCK.SYS C API in source code form
IOCTL.H Header file for IOCTL.C
LIOCTL.OBJ Large memory model IOCTL.OBJ
MIOCTL.OBJ Medium memory model IOCTL.OBJ
READ.ME This file
SIOCTL.OBJ Small memory model IOCTL.OBJ
CLOCK.DOC may be viewed online or printed. To print: set your printer for 66
lines per page and COPY CLOCK.DOC PRN.
Please read CLOCK.DOC for registration information. Registration is $10 for a
single system usage license. For a $25 license fee, you will get a copy of
the source code and the document in WordPerfect 5.1 format. You may also
register through CompuServe (GO SWREG and use ID 104) but the charge there is
$12 to cover the CompuServe fee. CompuServe also does not offer any way to
for me to provide a discount through their service nor to provide you with
a source license (sorry, they are convenient in many ways).
I am happy to provide volume discounts, site licenses, and corporate licenses.
The general fee schedule is:
2 - 5 copies $8 each
6 - 14 copies $7 each
15 - 24 copies $100 per site (includes WP document)
25 - 49 copies $200 per site (includes WP document)
50+ copies $250 per site (includes WP document)
Unlimited corporate license $500 (not limited to a single site, includes
source license)
With the site and corporate licenses, you need not inform me of the number of
copies in use. You are free to make your own copies and distribute the
software as you see fit within the single location or corporations as long as
you stay within the maximum number of copies. The site and corporate licenses
include the right to use the software in portable PCs and employee PCs used
off site but they all count in the total number of copies.
