  8.                    QUICK INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
  9. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
  10. If you are installing from the ChronoLog "master" diskette(s), one 3 1/2" 
  11. or two 5 1/4" floppy(s), the files are not compressed.  Use the 
  12. following procedure to install:
  13.  
  14.       - There should be at least 15 files.  See the file PACKING.LST 
  15.         for a listing of the minimum files required.
  16.  
  17.       - Insert the 3 1/2" floppy or 5 1/4" floppy #1 (contains the 
  18.         file CLINST.EXE) into a floppy drive.
  19.  
  20.       - Type CLINST (the ChronoLog System Installation Program).  This will 
  21.         create a subdirectory on your hard drive and copy the system files 
  22.         into it.  (If loading from 5 1/4" floppy, you will be prompted to 
  23.         insert floppy #2.).  CLINIT (the ChronoLog Database Initialization 
  24.         Program) will execute automatically.

  26.       - Type CHRONO to execute ChronoLog.

  29. If you have the ChronoLog files compressed into a single file (the 
  30. file name should be CHRON100.xxx, where xxx = compression extension), 
  31. use the following installation procedure:
  32.  
  33.       - You do not need to run CLINST.  Instead make sure that the 
  34.         compressed file has been copied to the subdirectory on your
  35.         hard drive wherein you want the ChronoLog system files to reside.
  36.  
  37.       - Uncompress CHRON100.xxx.  If the uncompress is successful, 
  38.         you may delete CHRON100.xxx.
  39.  
  40.       - There should be at least 15 files when uncompressed.  See the 
  41.         file PACKING.LST for a listing of the minimum files required.
  42.      
  43.       - Type CLINIT (the ChronoLog Database Initialization Program) to 
  44.         initialize a database in the subdirectory where the system files 
  45.         reside.
  46.  
  47.       - Type CHRONO to execute ChronoLog.

  50. If you have an older version of ChronoLog, and are upgrading with these
  51. files: 
  52.         
  53.       - Simply copy all of the files to your original ChronoLog directory
  54. (database MAIN) on your hard drive.  The new versions will overlay the old.
  55.  
  56.       - Type CHRONO to execute ChronoLog.  NOTE: if you are upgrading to 
  57. version 1.02 from an earlier version, the first time you execute ChronoLog
  58. you will be asked to execute CLINIT in database MAIN to convert your SETUP.
  59. Just follow the instructions on the screen.
