CHRISTIAN ACTION FACT SHEET
This fact sheet lists legislative and corporate attacks on
traditional family values. The purpose is to inform you as a voter
and a consumer so that you can write letters of concern or boycott
as you feel appropriate. Full text of written sources is
available on request.
FREEDOM OF CHOICE ACT
Bill will legalize abortion through- out all nine months of
pregnancy and bar states from enacting any laws to regulate
abortion. The prime sponsor of the bill says that the FOCA:
".....is explicit. It provides for no exceptions, no
exceptions whatsoever. It is a classic one sentence statue
that says a state may not restrict the right of any woman to
terminate a pregnancy and that is for any reason."
ACTION: Write to your Congressman and your Senators. Express
your strong opposition to the FOCA. Explain that the bill would
prohibit your state from placing any meaningful restrictions on
abortion, even during the final months of a woman's pregnancy, and
that the law would invalidate existing laws such as parental
consent already found to be Constitutional. (See below for
addresses)
Write or call NRLC Federal Legislative Office, 419 7th St N.W.,
Suite 500, Washington DC 20004 for detailed information about
FOCA.

ACTION: Write to Mr John Roach, Chairman and CEO, Tandy
Corporation, PO Box 17180, Fort Worth TX 76102; (817) 390-3700.

GAYS IN THE MILITARY
Radical gay militants now demanding "queer quotas" and an end to
AIDS test- ing in the military. President Clinton has said he
will end longstanding ban on gays in the military and could issue
Executive Order at any time. Gen Powell, Chrmn Joint Chiefs of
Staff, and Defense Secretary Sam Nunn have warned against quick
action and many military leaders oppose lifting ban.
Critics say allowing gays to openly joint military would undermine
moral and pose an unacceptable health risk from AIDS. (FRC, Dec
92)
ACTION: 1. Write President Clinton, The White House, Washington DC
20500. Urge him to listen to his military advisors and not lift
the ban.
2. Write your Congressman and Senators. Only Congress can change
military law which makes sodomy a crime.
