** CDC Golden Ears Society **
=> Last update: 1/23/93
Since late June, 1992, CDC customers have been rating the CDs they've
purchased from us. To date, more than 6,000 ratings have been gathered.
This number will steadily grow. All members of the Golden Ears Society
who choose to participate have access to these ratings on-line.
You automatically become a member of the Golden Ears Society when we ship
your first order to you. Membership extends for 3 months from the time
of your last order. Sometime after ordering from us, we will ask you to
grade the CDs you received on a scale of 1 to 10 signifying the level of
enjoyment you attribute to the CD. Members of the Golden Ears Society who
share their opinions (and only those who share their opinions) will have
on-line access to the entire accumulated library of GES ratings.
GES ratings are only available on-line. To activate the display of GES
ratings, choose (G)olden Ears from the CDC Search Menu.
CDs which have been rated will include their average rating on the far
right of the display. For example:
CAP46438 +BEATLES BEATLES FOR SALE 8.0/1
$12.89 CAPITOL 7/87 :34
The first number on the far right of the display, in this case 8.0, is the
average of all GES ratings for the level of enjoyment attributed to the CD.
The second number is the number of GES members who have rated the CD.
When the CD has been rated by 10 or more GES members, the second number
will be replaced with an '*', e.g.,
WAR26774 +ENYA WATERMARK 9.1/*
$12.89 WARNER BROTHERS 11/91
Want to see what's been rated so far? Choose (F)ilter from the CDC
Search Menu and then choose the (G)olden Ears Filter.
We know you will find your membership in the Golden Ears Society extremely
useful in selecting the best (and avoiding the worst) in recorded music on
compact disc.
