  3. This README file contains the latest information about Calendar Creator Plus 
  4. version 5.0. 
  5.  
  6. (1) You MUST specify a printer before printing a calendar
  7.  
  8.     Select File | Printer Setup to specify your printer.
  9.  
  10. (2) Duplex printing
  11.     
  12.     Manufacturers of many duplex printers recommend using 8.5 x 11" or
  13.     8.5 x 14" paper, only, for duplex printing. To print two sides of
  14.     calendars on smaller pages, turn off Duplex Printing in the Printer 
  15.     Setup dialog in order to use the printer as a simplex (one-side-at-a-
  16.     time) printer.

  18. (3) Low memory when printing
  19.  
  20.     If you get the message "Unable to complete the selected operation. 
  21.     Not enough available memory." when printing or previewing your calendar,
  22.     try this: Exit from Calendar Creator Plus, then run the program and try
  23.     printing again. Exiting and returning may free up memory that the program
  24.     needs for printing.
  25.  
  26. (4) Error message: "Cannot continue with double sided printing. Not enough 
  27.                     available memory."
  28.  
  29.     This message may indicate that Calendar Creator Plus is unsuccessfully 
  30.     attempting to use the Print Spooler when printing. 
  31.     
  32.     (a) Select File | Set Defaults
  33.  
  34.     (b) Look at the Print Spooler disk drive.
  35.  
  36.         If it's a hard drive, make sure the drive letter is valid. You
  37.         cannot spool to a network drive, or to a drive that your computer
  38.         doesn't have, or to a drive that is full.
  39.         
  40.         If the Use Disk Drive field is blank, enter your emptiest hard 
  41.         drive's drive letter, and Calendar Creator Plus will be able to
  42.         print larger, more complex calendars in the future.
  43.         
  44.         If it's a floppy drive, check that there is a formatted floppy 
  45.         disk in the drive and that the disk is not write protected and not
  46.         almost full. We suggest that you don't spool to a floppy disk.
  47.  
  48. (5) Layout Options dialog: "Overflow Minimum Size" is now "Smallest Scaled 
  49.     Text."
  50.  
  51.     Enter the smallest point size that Calendar Creator Plus can use 
  52.     when reducing the text for the Small Calendar and for events on 
  53.     overflow dates. This option does not affect how small the program 
  54.     can scale text, as specified with the Scale Event Size option.
  55.  
  56. (6) Error message: "Not a valid pathname" when you attempt to set a path to 
  57.     a network drive.
  58.  
  59.     Check whether you've specified the drive and path correctly. Sometimes
  60.     network path names are very long, and easy to make a typing mistake in.
  61.     If you have specified the path correctly, and still get the message,
  62.     check if there are any files in that directory. If the directory is 
  63.     empty, copy your event list to the network drive and try set path again.
  64.  
  65. (7) Postscript printing problems
  66.  
  67.     If the printer prints nothing, or prints only the first page(s), or 
  68.     prints garbage, you may have overloaded the printer's memory. Try 
  69.     turning your printer off, then back on to clear extra typefaces or
  70.     data stored there by a previous program. If this doesn't work, we
  71.     recommend revising your calendar to use smaller fonts, fewer typefaces,
  72.     and no boldfacing.

  74. (8) Using SETUPCC after installing Calendar Creator Plus
  75.  
  76.     After installing Calendar Creator Plus, you can use SETUPCC to add
  77.     clipart and to add or remove fonts. You don't have to run SETUPCC
  78.     from your floppy disks -- run it from your Calendar Creator Plus
  79.     directory instead. To do this:

  81.     (a)  Switch to the directory where you normally run Calendar
  82.          Creator Plus
  83.  
  84.     (b)  Type SETUPCC and follow its onscreen instructions.

  86. (9) Printing to Canon BubbleJet or Epson LQ printers using Legal or A4
  87.     cut sheet papers
  88.  
  89.     Make sure to eject the extra paper fed into printer before starting
  90.     each print job.
