  14. Embassy Location:  The U.S. Embassy is located on the third floor, 
  15. Teck Guan Plaza, Jalan Sultan, in the capital city of Bandar Seri 
  16. Begawan.  The mailing address is American Embassy, Box B, APO AP

  19. Country Description:  Brunei is a small Islamic Sultanate on the 
  20. north coast of the island of Borneo.  The capital, Bandar Seri 
  21. Begawan, is the only major city.  Tourist facilities are good, and 
  22. generally available.

  24. Entry Requirements:  Passports and visas are required.  Visas must 
  25. be obtained in advance.  A visa is valid for three months and 
  26. requires a $7.50 fee, an application form, two photos, a letter 
  27. stating the purpose of the visit, itinerary, onward/return ticket 
  28. and proof of sufficient funds.  A yellow fever vaccination is needed 
  29. if arriving from an infected area.  For more information the

  34. Medical Facilities:  Hospital and medical services in Brunei are 
  35. available, with good facilities.  Doctors and hospitals often expect 
  36. immediate cash payment for health services.  U.S. medical insurance 
  37. is not always valid outside the United States.  Supplemental medical 
  38. insurance with specific overseas coverage has proved useful.  The 
  39. international travelers hotline at the Centers for Disease Control 
  40. can be reached at (404) 332-4559 for additional useful health 
  41. information.

  43. Information on Crime:  The crime rate in Brunei is very low, and 
  44. violent crime is rare.  Useful information on guarding valuables and 
  45. protecting personal security while traveling abroad is provided in
