  7. There continue to be many "religious" people who sincerely feel that
  8. Jesus is not God.  They claim the Bible as the Word of God, but
  9. refuse to believe in the deity of Christ.  As sincere as these people
  10. are... they are sincerely wrong.
  11.  
  12. Most often you will find they do not have a complete knowledge of the
  13. Word of God.  They have gone "Bible-Dipping".  They single out a few
  14. Scripture passages, taken out of context, and develop a religion
  15. around those passages.  Let's look at the verses used to disprove the
  16. doctrine of Christs deity.

  22. John 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come
  23. again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I
  24. go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

  28. This is, by far, the verse most often used to prove that Jesus was
  29. separate and second in command to God the Father.  The question asked
  30. is "How can Jesus be God if God is greater than He?"

  54. These verses say Christ was equal to God, which literally means "the
  55. same as"... yet, by choice, he did not manifest all God's powers.

  110. are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain
  111. of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
  112. Hebrews 02:16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but
  113. he took on him the seed of Abraham.

  118. was it necessary for God to become man?  Verse 10 explains it.  It
  119. became Him... the one by whom are all things (the Creator) to offer
  120. the only perfect salvation possible for mankind.

  125. There are some "Yeah Buts" who do, eventually, become convinced by
  126. Scripture that Christ is referred to as God.  Yet, they aren't
  127. willing to acknowledge His deity.  The favorite verse of those who

  147. argument to reveal the hypocrisy of His enemies:

  151. Psalms 82:06 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of

  156. This Psalm depicts God as entering an assembly of judges to condemn
  157. unfair treatment.  The word translated "gods" means "judges."

  159. Christ simply was saying that they didn't protest the Psalm when it
  160. referred to human judges as gods, yet they denounced Christ when he
  161. claimed His title.

  192. created by him, and for him:

  198. The very next two verses reveal the answer.  Jesus is clearly
  199. revealed as the Creator.  The Creator cannot create Himself.
  200. Obviously, the firstborn simply refers to Christ's superiority.

  216. The "Amen" referred to in this verse is obviously Christ.  Those who
  217. say Jesus is not God say this verse proves that Jesus was the first
  218. created being formed by God.  Therefore, how could someone who is not
  219. eternal be the eternal God?

  237. First, note that the verse says "beginning of the creation of God;".
  238. This does NOT say "by God".  Second, the Greek word for beginning
  239. (arche) means the active role of creating... not the inactive role of
  240. being created.

  242. Jesus, then, is the Beginner of God's creation, not the first created
  243. being.  This proper interpretation of this verse agrees with all the
  244. other Scripture which tell us of Christ's deity and of His role as
  245. Creator.

  251. Now it's time to put it all together.  We've seen what the Old
  252. Testament said about the coming Christ; what Christ claimed about
  253. Himself; What His contemporaries claimed; And even answered the most
  254. common objections to the doctrine of Christ's deity.  The question
  255. you must answer is simple.  It's not what do you think of a certain
  256. religion, or of Christians, or the traditions of your church, or even
  257. what good works have you done or are doing.

  272. Don't allow a philosopher's deceptive words make you mistrust the
  273. Savior.  Don't permit a translator's trick to cause you to reject the
  274. God-man, Jesus Christ.  And don't let the intellect and suppositions
  275. of mere man influence you more than the message of Almighty God.

  277. If you've never accepted the life of the living Christ as your
  278. Savior, then do it now.  Here is a suggested prayer:

  281. Almighty God, I confess that I have sinned against you.  Thank you
  282. for dying for the forgiveness of my sins.  Come into my heart and
  283. take control of my life.  Help me grow in the wisdom and knowledge of
  284. your Word and to become the person you want me to be.  By faith, I
  285. now thank you for coming into my life.  I pray in Jesus name.  AMEN.

  292. If you sincerely asked Christ into your life, then, on the authority
  293. of God's Holy Word, The Spirit of Christ now lives in you.  You have
  294. eternal life because Christ will never leave you, nor forsake you.
  295. Allow Him to renew your mind as you surrender control of your life to
  296. Him.  And... welcome to the family of God.
