Thank you for downloading this short book. DREAM.TXT was
written entirely by my 12 yr. old daughter Christy. The
creative writing was an enjoyment. Convincing her to type
it on our computer was met with less enthusiasm. I give
her a lot of credit for enduring several hours of tedious
pecking away on a sticky keyboard.
This upload is part of her school literature project.
The subject deals with publishing an electronic novel. She
knows what a BBS freak her dad is, so I convinced her to go
the shareware approach. Now, obviously she is not asking for
monetary compensation for this literary masterpiece. She is
asking that if you read the story, or better yet, let your
children read it, that you might send a postcard from where
you live, with any (favorable) comments to her. This will be
the equivalent of payment for her work, thus demonstrating
the shareware method of selling literary works. (And get her an
A on the project).
Christy's teachers were very enthusiastic about this
form of creative writing, using the computer BBS system for
exchanging stories. If you are an educator or parent with
interest or experience with school projects of this type,
any information would be helpful.
Computer literacy, creative writing, and the increase of
telecommunications are all very important tools in the education
of our school children. We all know the difficult years ahead
in the global economic environment. The amount of help we can
give to our children now will be measured in the future.
I now am stepping down from my soapbox. Thank you
If your children enjoy the story, please send a postcard to:

She thanks you, and I thank you, and my computer thanks you.
