SYSOP is the Fido/FidoNet utility used to manipulate theì
caller list, CALLER.SYS. It is fairly simple to use; for helpì
with a specific command, hit ? again, then the command key youì
want help with.
\l
Searches the caller list for a specific name or part of aì
name. Entering "AN" will find: Brand, Stan, Anthony, etc. It isì
not case sensitive. The search starts the the NEXT record, andì
ends when a match is found. If during the search the end of theì
file is reached, it then proceeds from the beginning of the fileì
until it reaches the original .... starting point or finds aì
match. Typing ESCape will stop the search.
\-
Goes backwards one record.
\<
Goes backwards one record.
\+
Goes forward one record.
\>
Goes forward one record.
\b
Goes to the first record in the caller file.
\e
Goes to the the last record in the caller file.
\i
Input a new name. This merely creates a new, blank callerì
record at the end of the file. You need to fill in the user name,ì
password, city and any other desired features and options. Noteì
that Sysop will let you leave important parts such as the nameì
blank; Fido will not allow you to log in with these however.
\a
Enter a caller address.
\w
Enter a new password. It must be one word up to 15ì
characters. Upper or lower case does not matter.
\p
Set the callers privilege level; 0 is the lowest (seeì
specific cautions on Privilege level 0 in Fido's manual) and 4 isì
the highest. 7 is for Sysop level privileges. See the manual alsoì
for side effects of the various privilege levels.
\g
Exits to DOS.
\o
"Stamps" caller records by age; this is used to purgeì
callers who have not called into the system in a long time. Thisì
prompts for the age of callers to stamp, in days. Each callerì
record in the file is then checked; if it is this age or older itì
is marked (STAMPED); records under this are have any stampì
removed. (Use A)ge-Stamp "1000 days" to effectively remove allì
stamps from all records.)
The ! Purge-Stamped command can be used to permanentlyì
remove all (STAMPED) records from the file. Also get HELP! on theì
S)tamp, ! Purge-Stamped and U)n-Stamp commands.
\s
Mark the current caller record as (STAMPED). The ! Purgeì
Stamped command can be used to permanently remove all (STAMPED)ì
records from the file. The U)n-Stamp command removes the stamp.ì
Also get HELP! on the S)tamp, U)n-Stamp and ! Purge-Stampedì
commands.
\u
Remove any stamp from the current record. Also get HELP!ì
with the A)ge-Stamp, S)tamp and ! Purge-Stamped commands.
\$
Add money to the callers credit field. The number youì
enter is ADDED to any amount already there. To clear creditì
first, (such as to set a specific value), enter NONE. The callersì
debit will be subtracted from the credit before adding anyì
additional amount.
\m
Set the default Message Area the caller is in when theyì
log in. This is generally only used when each caller is lockedì
into a specific Message Area, ie. they cannot access the A)rea¡
Change command from within Fido. Please refer to the manual forì
details.
\f
Set the default File Area the caller is in when they logì
in. This is generally only used when each caller is locked into aì
specific File Area, ie. they cannot access the A)rea-Changeì
command from within Fido. Please refer to the manual for details.
\!
Permanantly purges all (STAMPED) callers from theì
CALLER.SYS file. Please refer to HELP! on the A)ge-Stamp andì
S)tamp commands before using. Purged records are placed in theì
file CALLER.OLD. A backup copy of the original caller file isì
made in CALLER.BAK.
\k
Add or remove keys from the callers record. To add keys,ì
just enter the key number or numbers, 1 to 32.
1 add key #1
2 3 27 add keys 2, 3, 27
-16 remove key 16
-2 -7 remove keys 2 and 7
NONE remove all keys
\r
Resets the callers accumulative limits: accumulatedì
download and accumulated connect time.
\c
This does a very stringent integrity check on theì
displayed caller record. It is intended for recovering damagedì
caller records. It will force name, password and city to beì
printable USASCII (note: may remove extended and internationalì
characters), checks and repairs msg and file area numbers, last¡
msg-read counters and other internal data. Please be sure toì
manually enter any missing or incorrect fields.
\#
Position to a specific record number.
