  29. F)iles displays a list of the files available for download inì
  30. this File Area. You can list files selectively using MSDOSì
  31. "wildcards"; for example, "F *.EXE" lists all files withì
  32. extention .EXE, etc.

  35. D)ownload sends files from Fido TO YOU. First, you are asked forì
  36. the file transfer protocol to use (you can get specific help atì
  37. that point), then the name(s) of the file(s) you wish toì
  38. download.

  40. Please refer to the documentation for YOUR terminal program onì
  41. how to download. You must complete your download within theì
  42. remaining amount of your time limit. (Fido will warn you at theì
  43. right time.)

  46. U)pload sends files from your computer TO FIDO. First, you areì
  47. asked for the file transfer protocol to use (you can get ì
  48. specific help at that point), then the name(s) of the file(s) ì
  49. you wish to upload.

  59. of program, etc., as determined by the System Operator.

  62. current File Area. ** NOTE that the L)ocate command is an ì
  63. exception to this rule; see below **

  66. T)ype displays a text file on your screen.

  74. S)tatistics displays various statistics about your connection toì
  75. Fido.

  78. L)ocate can be used to search for a file, or files, across ALLì
  79. File Areas. You can use the MSDOS "wildcard" characters at theì
  80. prompt for the file to locate. You might use this command toì
  81. locate in which File Area a particular file resides.

  83. "L filename.ext" will list each File Area and all occurrences  ofì
  84. the file it finds.

  87. R)aw-Display is similar to the DOS "DIR" command, except that itì
  88. lists hidden files and subdirectories. It does NOT refer to theì
  89. Fido file list, "FILES.BBS", for the file descriptions.

  92. K)ill-File is similar to the MSDOS "DEL" command; it deletes allì
  93. occurrences of the file(s) in the current File Area. It alsoì
  94. removes all matching names from the file list, "FILES.BBS".

  96. *** WARNING *** It will NOT ask "Yes or No" if you specify "*.*".

  99. O)verride-Path is used to specify a DOS subdirectory for the ì
  100. FILE SECTION commands to operate on, instead of the normal Fileì
  101. Area.

  103. ** NOTE ** This command is usually made available to the SYSOP.

  106. G)oodbye: Log-off of Fido. Depending upon the implementation ofì
  107. Fido on this system, you may be prompted to optionally enter aì
  108. Private message to the SYSOP before you are logged off. Afterì
  109. log-off, you will be disconnected.

  111. It is safe to "Hang Up" on Fido; it is never harmful.

  114. M)ain-Menu returns you to the MAIN SECTION, the first menu ofì
  115. commands you see when you log into Fido. From there, you canì
  116. return to the FILES SECTION or go into the MESSAGE SECTION.
