  12.         This demonstration version of CADWriter has all 
  13.         features available except you are not able to Save 
  14.         or Export the edited document.  Sample documents are
  15.         provided in the drawing file CWSAMPLE.DWG to help get 
  16.         you started.

  18.         CADWriter in its full working state is not Public 
  19.         Domain Software nor is it ShareWare. This CADWriter 
  20.         Demo may be distrubuted to anyone as long as all 
  21.         files are intact and in the original form.
  22.         
  23.         CAD Lettering Systems, Inc. does not warrant the 
  24.         integrity of CADWriter software that has not been 
  25.         installed from an original diskette.

  27.         The cost to register CADWriter and receive a printed
  28.         manual with a serialized disk is $99.00 (U.S. dollars) 
  29.         plus shipping and handling paid to CAD Lettering

  47.  To install CADWriter:
  48.     1) Unpack the files by running the cadwri.exe self extracting
  49.         archive. (compressed using LHA v2.13)
  50.     2) Create a directory of your choice to place the CADWriter 
  51.         files in.  Example: C:\CADWRIT
  52.     3) Copy all CADWriter files into the directory.

  55.  To use CADWriter:
  56.     1) Start AutoCAD R12 and open the CWSAMPLE.dwg file.  This drawing
  57.           has some sample documents to experiment with.
  58.     2) Use the APPLOAD command in AutoCAD to load the file:
  59.           C:\CADWRIT\CADWRIT.EXP
  60.     3) Use the WRITE Command to start CADWriter.
  61.           Command: WRITE
  62.  
  63.  The Registration Dialog will then appear. Press the button labeled
  64.  'Run in Demo Mode'.  Help is provided for all dialog boxes. Also, while
  65.  in Text Entry mode:
  66.  
  67.     F1          is the Command Menu
  68.     ALT+F1      is Keystroke Command Help
  69.     CTRL+F1     is the Registration Dialog

  71.  To learn about all of the features available in CADWriter, you can use
  72.  the Help Index, or browse through the CADWriter Help topics with the
  73.  'Previous' and 'Next' buttons in the Help dialog.

  75.  After you try the CADWriter Demo, you can turn it into a fully 
  76.  functional version by following the instructions of the Registration 
  77.  Dialog accessed from the Text Entry mode by pressing CTRL+F1.

  111. #2 ------------ CONVERTING TEXT ENTITIES TO DOCUMENTS ---------------------
  112.  
  113. CADWriter has the ability to create documents from existing text
  114. entities.  CADWriter will compare each text entity for matching
  115. style, height, width factor, rotation angle, etc.  If all of these
  116. values are similar the document will be created in the same location
  117. as the selected text.  This should aid in creating multi-line
  118. documents.
  119.  
  120. If any of the attributes of the selected text entities differ, then
  121. the Document Settings dialog box will appear.  At this time you may
  122. use the dialog box to adjust any of the settings for the new document.

  125. #3 -------------------------- TAB STOPS -----------------------------------

  127. Additional Tab Stop functionality has been added to speed up the
  128. process of Setting and Clearing Tab Stops.  This bypasses the use of
  129. the Tab Stops dialog box and gives you a more visual idea of where
  130. the Tab Stops need to be.

  132. The Keystroke Assignments are:
  133.  
  134.       Set (Add) a Tab Stop at the current cursor location....ALT+TAB
  135.       Clear the Tab Stop at the current cursor location......CTRL+TAB

  139.       Set (Add) a Tab Stop at the current cursor location....ALT+T
  140.       Clear the Tab Stop at the current cursor location......CTRL+T

  153. You cannot adjust the spacing between a tab character and any
  154. other character. If you do need to perform such an operation you
  155. should follow the tab character with a space character, then the word
  156. you wish to adjust spacing on.  You can then decrease the spacing
  157. between the space and the word enough that the word will move
  158. completely over the space character.  Keep in mind that the cursor
  159. will seem to be moving incorrectly when it moves through such a line.
  160. This is considered a bug and is being fixed.

  163. #4 -------------------------- KEYBOARDS -----------------------------------

  165. During the development and testing of CADWriter it was found that 
  166. some computer keyboards would not produce the ALT+ARROW keystroke 
  167. codes. These key cominations are used for the following functions:
  168.    
  169.       Justify Paragraph(s) Left...........ALT+LEFT ARROW
  170.       Justify Paragraph(s) Center.........ALT+DOWN ARROW
  171.       Justify Paragraph(s) Right..........ALT+RIGHT ARROW

  173. These functions of CADWriter are available from the F1 Command dialog
  174. if you find that the above keystroke combinations don't work on your
  175. keyboard. You can also use these CTRL+'key' assignments.

  178.       Justify Paragraph(s) Center.........CTRL+E

  182. #5 ---------------------------- FONTS -------------------------------------

  184. Unlike some other programs that have attempted to do paragraph text inside
  185. AutoCAD, CADWriter does not create any Text Entities until saving the doc-
  186. ument. The characters that appear on the graphics screen are not always 
  187. accurate representations of the final text.  
  188.  
  189. This is most noticable in the AutoCAD supplied font called EURO____.PFB.  
  190. The Space Bar character may display as what appears to be Slash.  This is
  191. a known bug and will be fixed in the next release of CADWriter.  If you
