  9. I was told at one time that if you sold a disk to someone that had a boot record
  10. created by format then you where in violation of copyright laws.  I just figured
  11. I would rather be safe than sorry so I wrote this program.  It will place a
  12. small custom message that is displayed when the user tries to boot.

  14. Using CustMBR
  15.  
  16. Using a text editor create a file named MBR_STR.TXT.  Make sure it is in the
  17. same directory as custmbr and then run custmbr.  Custmbr will request the drive
  18. letter of the drive who's MBR you would like replaced.  If you press any key
  19. other than A or B the program will simply stop.  If you did select either drive
  20. A or B custmbr will place the custom master boot record on the appropriate disk
  21. I only have an A drive but it should work also with the B drive.  It only works
  22. with 512 byte sectors on preformatted disks also.

  29. something will go wrong.

  34. as the following conditions are met.

  36.      1. You can charge no free for any of the files.
  37.      2. The only fees that can be charged are for
  38.           a. Replacement cost of the diskette if used.
  39.           b. A small duplication cost.
  40.           c. Replacement of mailing costs.
  41.           d. Your cost of on line time to download.
  42.      3. All files remain unmodified.
  43.      4. All files are must be distributed together.
  44.      5. If you use any of the files in a profit making organization you
  45.           must register your copy.

  49. You are asked to donate if you find the program useful.  The donation can be
  50. any amount, but to register send $15.00 or more.  Registered users
  51. will receive the next version when it comes out and better documentation.

  56.      copy, and what you would like to see added.
