  1.          ABOUT THE CONTACT TRACKING SYSTEM, VERSION 3.1

  4.      This document describes the latest version of a shareware program
  5. available from this electronic bulletin board system.  Developed by
  6. Access Success, the Contact Tracking System (CTS) is a powerful and
  7. friendly mailing list manager that can run on any IBM compatible
  8. personal computer with a hard disk.  It allows addresses, phone
  9. numbers, and miscellaneous information to be stored about customers,
  10. clients, members and friends.  Presenting an integrated visual and verbal
  11. interface, sighted and blind users can operate with equal ease and
  12. efficiency.  The product's latest improvements will be listed, and then
  13. general features described.

  15.      Version 3.1 of CTS corrects some minor bugs found in previous
  16. versions and adds some significant new features.
  17.  
  18. *    Pre-defined reports now include a 3-across format and return
  19.      address labels.
  20.  
  21. *    A report filter can specify that only tagged or untagged records be
  22.      included.
  23.  
  24. *    The STATUS report allows filtering on both CONTACT and
  25.      related STATUS records.
  26.  
  27. *    Phone number and zip code fields have an unformatted option, as
  28.      well as American and British formats.
  29.  
  30. *    An envelope may be printed sideways with a laser printer, as well
  31.      as the regular way.
  32.  
  33. *    Installation is especially easy with an automatic process.
  34.  
  35. *    The documentation is better organized and more comprehensive.

  38. mailing list managers, give CTS a try!  It is available for download as
  39. two archives in the ZIP format:  CTS31#1.ZIP and CTS31#2.ZIP.  This
  40. evaluation version is fully functional except for a limit of 120 records
  41. per database.

  43.      The Contact Tracking System is designed to meet a variety of
  44. common data management needs in a manner convenient to sighted and
  45. blind users alike, at work, at school, and at home.  Features include the
  46. following:

  48. *    Installing the system conveniently with an automatic batch process.
  49.  
  50. *    Storing of names, addresses, phone numbers, and miscellaneous
  51.      notes about any individual or organization.
  52.  
  53. *    Separating of contacts into different files based on user-defined
  54.      categories such as business organizations, personal friends,
  55.      miscellaneous acquaintances, co-workers, and job leads.  Contact
  56.      records can easily be transferred from one file to another.
  57.  
  58. *    Searching of contact records by any field of information, including
  59.      last name, company, city, state, and miscellaneous notes (stored in
  60.      a variable-length "memo field").
  61.  
  62. *    Dialing of a contact's phone number with a modem, thereby saving
  63.      having to look up, memorize, and then manually dial the number. 
  64.      The work or home number may be specified and whether the call
  65.      is a local, long distance, or internal (last five digits) number.

  67. *    Generating a letter or envelope to a contact that automatically
  68.      formats and positions the contact's address and the user's return
  69.      address.
  70.  
  71. *    Producing various pre-formatted lists and mailing labels.  Other
  72.      formats may be user-defined.  Return address labels are also
  73.      possible.

  75. *    Generating mail merge form letters in conjunction with the
  76.      WordPerfect word processor.

  78. *    Supplying online context-sensitive help, as well as complete
  79.      documentation on disk.

  81.      In performing these powerful operations, verbal and visual access
  82. occur simultaneously.  The most relevant information on the screen at
  83. any time is spoken automatically using the default settings of any screen
  84. reader program.  Thus the learning and operation of CTS are as easy
  85. and efficient for a blind person as his or her sighted counterpart.

  87.      The price of the complete CTS package is $90.  Given its
  88. sophistication, it costs significantly less than most adaptive or
  89. mainstream software because the author would like it to reach and
  90. benefit many blind consumers.  Interested persons or organizations may
  91. send a check made out to Access Success at the address below.  By first
  92. class mail, they will receive the software and documentation on either
  93. 5 1/4 or 3 1/2 inch (double density) disks.  Print documentation is also
  94. provided.  Discounts are available for volume purchases.
