  7. The following is a summary of some of the features and
  8. enhancements associated with Computer Associates new release of
  9. the Clipper Compiler -- CA-Clipper 5.2 (previously a Nantucket
  10. product, now owned by Computer Associates), as well as
  11. information on normal and competitive upgrade pricing and
  12. ordering information.
  13.  
  14. In summary, CA-Clipper 5.2 is offered as an upgrade from ANY
  15. previous version of Clipper for $149 (US); $179 (CDN).
  16.  
  17. A competive upgrade is also available for existing FoxPro,
  18. dBASE, Paradox, ARAGO, Quicksilver, and Force users for $199
  19. (US); $225 (CDN).

  21. IN BOTH CASES, Computer Associates is offering your choice of
  22. CA Tools III (aka: Nantucket Tools III), CA-DBFAST, or the
  23. CA-CLIPPER/COMPILER KIT FOR DBASE IV (aka: Matt Whelan's
  24. Compiler) for an additional $50. Your choice of any one of these
  25. additional items may be ordered at the time you send in your
  26. CA-Clipper 5.2 Registration Card provided your upgrade is
  27. purchased prior to March 31, 1993.

  32. * DOS Memory Barriers Shattered -
  33.   Virtual Memory Management (VMM) has been significantly
  34.   enhanced, and lets you address up to 64 megabytes of memory
  35.   (compared to the old 8MB limit) with faster access.

  37. * New, Enhanced RDDs -
  38.   Now CA-Clipper can read and modify data from dBASE IV, FoxPro,
  39.   Paradox, and other programs transparently. The new NTX driver
  40.   has an improved locking feature to speed up multiuser
  41.   applications and a "hook" is available to provide an index
  42.   progress meter.

  44. * Enhanced Source-Level Debugger -
  45.   Perhaps the best in the industry, this powerful tool trackds
  46.   down errors quickly and intelligently, yielding more stable applications.

  48. * Dramatically Improved Documentation -
  49.   This was a big request amoung developers. The first major
  50.   documentation update since 1989 provides far greater detail and
  51.   makes for unparalleled ease of use. There's also an excellent
  52.   tutorial for novice users.

  54. * Documented APIs for Advanced Features -
  55.   Programs writtin in C, Pascal or Assembler can use
  56.   CA-Clipper's VMM for superior memory management and there's an
  57.   API for the RDDs as well, so you can create your own.

  61. Standard upgrades are priced at $149 (US$); $179 (CDN$) are available
  62. to all registered Clipper users, regardless of which previous
  63. Clipper release you own.

  66. RBASE, PARADOX, ARAGO, QUICKSILVER, and FORCE users for $199
  67. (US$); $225 (CDN$).
