BBSEditor v1.10
for Celerity v1.40
written by ZigZag [THG F/X]
Description:
This is an Offline Celerity utility. BBSEditor was written to go
through your BBS/VMB/NUA listings and delete specified entries easily.
This was written for Celerity v1.40 and higher. The data structure
has changed between Celerity v1.40 and the lower versions. Unless the
structure will change in the future, this should work for all
NUMBERS.DAT files. Please check for updates and report all bugs to
the author.
Some New Features have been added since the first release. The first
release was rushed so The Byter could include it in his release of
Celerity v1.40. Now that more time was available, I added some handy
options which will easy your quest to delete Lamer's BBS Ads in your
BBSLIST.DAT. I have spent a lot of time on the internal workings of
this utility. The Screen writes are much faster, and I have
reorganized a few things. Just use the ALT-H key for the online help
on new and updated commands. I am suprised how quickly this package
came together, and I plan on developing a One-Liners editor out of
this package. The routines are pretty generic so it won't be to hard.
Use:
This is a free utility written for the betterment of Celerity BBS
Package as a whole, and is provided at no cost to SysOps of Registered
copies of Celerity. Please register your copy of Celerity if you
haven't yet, it keeps the support coming.
The commands for this package is easy. Modeled after the phonebook of
QModem, the keypad, the space bar, and Q for quit are the only keys
you need. NUMLOCK does not matter. Use the Up/Down keys to position
to cursor to the desired BBS/VMB/NUA record location. Press the space
bar to mark the record for deletion. After taggin all the desired
records for deletion, press 'Q' for quit, and it will prompt you if
you wish to save the changes or not.
Page-Up and Page-Down keys work, for moving to the top or bottom
record respectively on the current page. The Home and End Key will
jump you to the beginning or ending, respectively, of the list. A
limit of BBS Records has been set to 200. If you have more than 200
BBS/VMB/NUA records, you must have some real lamers on your board and
you need to delete some of them regardless.
Mouse support has been added. Although it is a little limited, I
didn't think that an extensive mouse support was needed. With the
mouse, you can not switch pages, but just point and press the left
button on which record you want to delete.
A Global Untagging feature has been added, just press ALT-U. This
command untags ALL BBS records that have been marked for deletion.
Okay, I got this one from the QModem phone book. A similar feature
has been added. Namely, the RESET Key. ALT-R taggs ALL BBS records
for deletion except the first BBS in the list. Usually, Lexicon's
number is the first record. Do NOT delete ALL of your BBS records.
you need at least one.
The ONLY support I got for this utility was form The Byter, so I took
his suggestions to heart. I added the ALT-D, Global Delete by Date,
which is very handy for getting rid of those older ads. Using the
up/down keys, adjust the date for deletion. Right now, only
month/year scanning is supported, I really don't want to sit down
and write the day support, but I am sure I will get board enough.
After setting the appropriate month/year cominbation, hit S to start
the automatic tagging feature.
Author Note:
This is free, so I won't ramble on much more. The only thing I do
ask of the people that use it, is REPORT BUGS. Also, just drop me a
note either telling me how you like it. I am getting worn out on
writing these things, and thinking I am the only one that uses the
damn things. Well, check it out....and here comes all the bullshit.
The Author is not responsible for lost or damaged data. In other
words, kiss my butt if you want to sue me for deleting or messing up
the BBSrecs. Support will be provided for this program on The
Projects BBS. This is a private board. Please write me through
CelerityNET Mail to contact me about information about this board.
Thanks. -ZigZag [THG F/X]
