The main purpose for CALNOTE is to provide a means to review
months of the year and make a daily log of things to remember or
important schedules. The program is easy to use and comes in handy
when I need to remember an event planned for a particular day. By
glancing at the six month summary and pressing the RETURN key I
get a window to enter TIME,DATE and a brief note of what I want to
do at some hour of the day or even if I have serveral things planned
for the same hour I can enter the note and come back later and
review the notes for any day of the month, any month of the year.
In addition to the summary of months there is a full screen PAGE for
each month I want to review.
Now I'd like to talk about how to use CALNOTE. At the DOS prompt
enter CALNOTE. Make sure you install the program in a directory that
is included in the PATH environment varable. Or you can install the program
in the current directory and run it from there. When you begin execution
the first screen will prompt you for the year of the calendar you want.
It will accept a maximum of (4) four digits then the cursor will move
to the next prompt which ask for some quotation you might have for the
header of the calendar, like "1992 THE YEAR THE COWBOYS SCORED!"
The third prompt ask if you want to quit and if you do enter Q and the
program will quit and return you to the DOS prompt. After the first
screen the next thing that happens is a six month summary starting in
January and ending in June will be displayed. At this point you can use
the direction keys to navagate to a day of the month you choose and
press the RETURN key. The RETURN key will bring up a screen for entering
the time of day the note applies and the actual notes you want to
remember. The date is also displayed however you can'nt change the date.
During the time the note screen is displayed different choices can be
made depending on how many entries you have entered for that day.
The choice to be made is wheather or not you want to ADD a new note for
the same day or if you want to review notes that you already have.
You must press the return key for each of the four lines of the note
and after you reach the end the summary screen will appear. Now you can
move the cursor to a new day, display the next six months JULY - DECEMBER
or bring up a menu which will give you the options of:
1) The first screen (MAIN)
2) Returning to the summary screen
3) Go to view a PAGE of a month
4) EXIT
The PAGE display shows the days of the month in Block format. By using
the function keys you can display any month of the year.
You can back out of a screen by pressing ESCape key. Pressing the P, M
or X key while the summary screen is being displayed will bring up the
MENU screen. That about sums it up for what to expect. Have fun and may
the program bring joy to your life.
Oh there is one thing to concider and that is this program is shareware
and I'm asking whose who find a purpose or use for the program to please
send $10.00 to me.
