  17.      Please ensure that the first thing you do with your original disks is to
  18.      make backup copies.  This is essential, as many files have to be
  19.      manipulated (un-COMPRESSED) as described later in order to run.

  21.      as supplied.

  25.      Sound Management has obtained this material from electronic Bulletin
  26.      Board Systems (BBS's using modem transfer, and we have created a LOT
  27.      of the patches found here in the listings.)
  28.      We are saving you the time and cost of researching and downloading this
  29.      material yourself, and the price we have charged reflects only our
  30.      services for research, downloading, evaluation, packaging, advertising,
  31.      mailing.  The copyright for this software is owned by the original
  32.      author of the work.  Some authors release their material as "SHAREWARE".
  33.      The concept with shareware is simple.  The author will make it clear
  34.      in accompanying documentation that the product is indeed shareware.
  35.      He will ask you to register with him as a user of the product for a
  36.      nominal fee and you will receive regular updates and revisions of the
  37.      software.  Take a tip from us.  DO register a shareware product if you
  38.      use it.  This will encourage the author to provide more valuable material

  48.      IMPORTANT - ARCHIVED AND ZIPPED FILES
  49.  
  50.      Most of the files on disks come to you in compressed form.  This
  51.      means that they have been compressed using special software, and have to be
  52.      decompressed before they may be used.  All such files have the extension
  53.      .ARC, .ZIP or .LZH at the end of the filename.  There are many ways to
  54.      un-compress files we recommend the following course of action to users
  55.      unfamiliar with the process.

  57.      UN-ARCHIVING  UN-ZIPPING
  58.  
  59.      1.  Copy each file, one at a time, to an empty formatted disk.
  60.  
  61.      2.  Copy the file supplied (EITHER PKUNZIP.EXE OR PKXARC.EXE) to the
  62.          same disk.
  63.  
  64.      3.  Type PKUNZIP [filename] where [filename] is the name of the file with the
  65.          .ZIP extension.  PKXARC [filename] for files with the .ARC extension.

  68.      Example:

  70.      MIDISTUF.ZIP    First format a blank disk
  71.      copy MIDISTUF.ZIP to the fresh disk, together with PKUNZIP.EXE.
  72.      Now insert the disk with these 2 files into drive A: and type
  73.      PKUNZIP MIDISTUF <ENTER>.

  75.      The programs will be extracted from the archive MIDISTUF.ZIP and are now
  76.      usable.  They are contained, along with the original archive, on
  77.      the disk in drive A: which should be labelled according to content and
  78.      stored ready for use.  The archive remains intact, but may be deleted if
  79.      desired.

  101.    about 700K per 3.5" disk.  Each 3.5" 720K disk costs $10.95 plus $3.00

  113.    FILE (like .ARC, .ZIP, .EXE whatever it is) AND THE SIZE OF THE FILE AS
  114.    GIVEN IN THE FILE DIRECTORY LIST.  ADD UP THE NUMBER OF BLOCKS (SIZE FOR
  115.    EACH FILE) MAKING SURE THAT EACH 720K DISK WILL HOLD ABOUT 700K WORTH OF
  116.    FILES.
