  2. The Rivest-Shamir-Adleman encryption algorithm is one of several recently
  3. developed techniques for encryption which put immensely secure encryption
  4. within reach of the home computer user.  This software was written starting
  5. with the following objectives:  (a) The highest possible level of text
  6. security should be made available to the widest possible market.  (b)
  7. Encryption speed considerations should not be allowed to intrude on
  8. questions of encryption quality, but once a scheme had been decided upon,
  9. assembler routines would be used to obtain the best possible speed.  Author
