  1. This is the 21 November release of the shareware Barry Press Utilities for
  2. Windows 95.

  4. Please note that the utilities are no longer distributed by me on CompuServe,
  5. and that support is no longer available on CompuServe.  Instead, the current
  6. version can be found on the Internet at

  14. American Online, CompuServe, and Prodigy all offer Internet access, so this
  15. site should be widely available.  I will be introducing a method by which
  16. registered users can get the current registered version from the Web site
  17. starting with the next release of the software.  If you are a registered
  18. user, please make sure I have a current E-Mail address for you so I can
  19. notify you of updates.  You can E-Mail addresses to me at press@aros.net.

  21. Included in this version (updates on the Internet at no cost for registered
  22. users) are a simple monthly calendar, a drag-and-drop ASCII file printer
  23. (also capable of spooling Postscript files to a Postscript printer), an icon
  24. for printer orientation control, an ASCII file comparison program, a shell
  25. extension to add a command line option to the Explorer (like the old File.Run),
  26. a digital clock, and a random multimedia file player.  This version also
  27. includes the Windows 95 version of DLLMan, a tool to show the dynamic link
  28. libraries used by programs or the programs using a dynamic link library.

  30. The bonus program for registered users is Reaper, a utility to find old and
  31. unused files on the disk and make them available for deletion to the recycle
  32. bin.  Registered users will receive a password that allows them to unlock the
  33. program.

  35. Known problems in this version are that revisions to the help files to
  36. reflect cosmetic differences in the conversion to Windows 95 are not complete,
  37. and that the help files still state that support is via CompuServe.
