  7. 1. INTRODUCTION
  8.  
  9. Startone (Start Once A Day) v.2.3 is designed to execute several tasks or
  10. programs once only in Windows on a day.  This program checks the programs you
  11. specified every time you start Windows have ran before on that day.  If they
  12. have not ran before, then it starts them.  On the other hand, it skips them.
  13. The programs may be backup utilities, virus scanner or any other things.

  15. StartOne v.2.3 contains the following files:
  16.  
  17.    desc.sdi    :   program description for uploading to BBS.
  18.    file_id.txt :   program description for uploading to BBS.
  19.    startone.exe:   checks time & activates programs if they are the 1st time
  20.            to start Windows.
  21.    startcfg.exe:   configure (add/delete) programs that you want to start
  22.            once a day (or configure programs for startone to run).
  23.    startone.txt:   this text file for documentation.

  25. NOTE:    VBRUN200.DLL is required to run this program.  For the reason of
  26.         shorter download time, I have not packed with this program.

  29. 2. INSTALLATION
  30.  
  31. a) Copy "startone.exe" and "startcfg.exe" into a directory.
  32. b) Use the "File/New/Program Item" in the Program Manager to install two new
  33.    program items for "startone" and "startcfg".
  34. c) Put the Startone icon (the Space Shuttle icon) into the Startup group
  35.    inside your Windows.
  36. d) Run Startcfg (activate the Startone by mouse clicks) to select programs that
  37.    you want to start once a day.

  40. 3. CHANGES

  42. Aug 94    v.1.0    - can start only one program
  43. Sep 94  v.2.0    - can start more than one program
  44. Oct 94  v.2.1    - some bug fixed
  45. Nov 94  v.2.2    - add some 3D effect and fix some bug
  46. Feb 95  v.2.3   Minor changes in startcfg.exe:
  47.         - delete program can now highlight the program and press the
  48.           Delete button
  49.         - the Delete button is disabled when no program is in the
  50.           program list
  51.         - fix a bug with the input to save program by manually enter
  52.           the program path
  53.         - hint showed in the input box "*.exe  *.com  *.bat  *.pif"
  54.         - the data file are renamed to startone.dat
  55.  
  56. NOTE:-    Version 1.0 to 2.1 are private and internal use only
  57.     Version 2.2 is the first public release
