  2.         EASY INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR FONTSAMPLER v1.0
  3. ===================================================================

  5. Follow these easy, step-by-step instructions to install the 
  6. FontSampler program.
  7.  
  8. (If you are using Windows and are not at a DOS prompt, double-click
  9. on the "DOS Prompt" icon.  If you don't have a "DOS Prompt" icon,
  10. exit Windows to complete the following steps.)
  11.  
  12. 1.   Create a new subdirectory on your hard disk called FONTSAMP.
  13.      From a DOS prompt, type
  14.  
  15.      CD\
  16.  
  17.      then press the [ENTER] key.  Next, type
  18.  
  19.      MD FONTSAMP
  20.  
  21.      and press the [ENTER] key.
  22.  
  23. 2.   Return to the subdirectory where the FONSAM.ZIP file is located
  24.      by typing 
  25.      
  26.      CD\[subdirectory.nam]
  27.      
  28.      where [subdirectory.nam] is the name of the subdirectory holding
  29.      the FONSAM.ZIP file, and press [ENTER]. 
  30.      
  31.      Then type
  32.  
  33.      COPY FONSAM.ZIP C:\FONTSAMP
  34.  
  35.      and press [ENTER].
  36.  
  37.      Now type
  38.  
  39.      CD\FONTSAMP
  40.  
  41.      and press [ENTER].
  42.  
  43.  
  44. 3.   Using the PKUNZIP program, unzip the file.  (For example purposes,
  45.      we will assume your copy of PKUNZIP is in a subdirectory called
  46.      C:\PKZIP.)  Now type
  47.  
  48.      C:\PKZIP\PKUNZIP FONSAM.ZIP
  49.  
  50.      This will extract the files from the ZIPped file.
  51.  
  52. 4.   If you used the "DOS Prompt" icon from Windows, type 
  53.  
  54.      EXIT 
  55.      
  56.      now, then press the [ENTER] key.
  57.  
  58.      Or, if you exited from Windows, reload windows by typing 
  59.      
  60.      WIN 
  61.      
  62.      and press the [ENTER] key.
  63.  
  64. 5.   In the Program Manager, click once on the title bar of the 
  65.      group in which you wish to install FontSampler.
  66.  
  67.      Click on the Program Manager "File" menu, then select "New."
  68.      Then click on "Program Item" and click on "OK."
  69.  
  70.      Now click on "Browse", then double-click on the "C:\" folder.
  71.      Use thescroll bars to scroll down to the FONTSAMP subdirectory.  
  72.      Double-click on it, then double-click on FONTSAMP.EXE.  Then 
  73.      click on "OK".
  74.  
  75.      A FontSampler icon will appear in the program group.
  76.  
  77.      To load and use FontSampler, double click on its icon.
  78.
