  20. <p>The event viewer provides advisory and progressive-status information and messages
  21.   for your Adaptec Storage Manager system. Every event includes a severity icon, a date and
  22.   time stamp, the host name where the event originated, and a description.<br>

  27.   and Error events cause an audible alarm to sound, notifying you of the event.

  29. <p>You can double-click an event in the event viewer and the "Configuration
  30.   event detail" window opens. This window contains the same information as
  31.   the event viewer, but in a larger, easier-to-read window. Some events have additional
  32.   details listed in this window.</p>
  33. <p>If the Adaptec Storage Manager is not in bootable-CD mode, it appends each event
  34.   to a log file, RAIDEVT.LOG. If this file exceeds 200 KB, the Adaptec Storage Manager
  35.   copies the file to RAIDEVT.OLD and creates a new RAIDEVT.LOG. If there is a
  36.   RAIDEVT.OLD already, the Adaptec Storage Manager overwrites it.</p>
