  15. <p>The following steps are an overview of the controller configuration process:</p>

  17.   <li>In the Enterprise view, click <img src="images/s_adapt1.gif" width="28" height="20" alt="Controller" align="absbottom">
  18.     (controller) that you want to configure.

  20.   <li>Right-click <b>Create logical device</b>, or click <b> <img src="images/create2.gif" width="21" height="20">
  21.     </b>on the toolbar or in the Logical devices view. The Configuration wizard opens.<br>

  23.   <li>Click either <b>Express configuration </b> or <b>Custom configuration</b>:<br>

  25.     If you select Express configuration, the Adaptec Storage Manager automatically:</p>

  27.       <li> Creates one or more logical devices, based on the number and size of ready physical
  28.         drives in your system.

  30.       <li>Defines a hot-spare drive, if four or more ready physical drives of
  31.         the same size are available. </li><br>

  33.    For HostRAID controllers, Express configuration creates
  34.   a single RAID Level-1 logical device; it does not create a hot spare drive.<br>
