  20. <p>The Adaptec Storage Manager was unable to use the
  21. specified port number. The port is currently in use.
  22. <h2>Action:</h2>
  23. <p>Change the port number for the system by doing the following:</p>
  24.  <ol>
  25.   <li>Click <strong>Agent actions <img src="images/menuarow.gif" width="32" height="10" align="absbottom" border="0">
  26.     Configure Adaptec Storage Manager agent</strong>.</li>
  27.   <li>Click the <strong>General settings</strong> tab.</li>
  28.   <li> In the Agent base port number field, type a new value for the port number.
  29.     <br>
  30.     <br>
  31.     The default port number for local access is 34571.<br>
  32.     <br>
  33.     <b>Note:</b> When changing the port number, consider the following:
  34.     <ul>
  35.       <li>This change does not take effect until you restart the Adaptec Storage Manager.<br>

  38.       <li>Any system that is accessing this system remotely must have the port
  39.         number changed to match the value you type. On the remote system, you
  40.         can change this value in the "<a href="aaddrem.htm">Add remote
