  17.   Adding a remote system </h1>
  18. <p> <img src="images/note.gif" width="15" height="17"><b> Note:</b> This action is not supported when using the following:

  20.   <li> Adaptec Storage Manager in bootable-CD mode</li>

  23. <p>Use this action to connect to a system and retrieve the system information.</p>
  24. <p><b><img src="images/note.gif" width="15" height="17"> Tip: </b>Before adding
  25.   a remote system, verify that the Adaptec Storage Manager is running on the remote
  26.   system. If the Adaptec Storage Manager is not running on the remote system, you will receive
  27.   an error.</p>

  29.   <li>Click <b>Remote</b> <img src="images/menuarow.gif" width="32" height="10" align="absbottom" border="0"><b>Add
  30.     remote system</b> or click the icon from the toolbar. The "Add remote
  31.     system" window opens.<br>

  34.   <li>Type the Remote TCP/IP host name or address.<br>

  37.   <li> Type the Remote system startup port number. The default port number is
  38.     34571.<br>

  41.   <li> If security is enabled on the remote system, type your user name and password.<br>

  50.     name/Password</b> box. Once you successfully connect to the remote system,
  51.     the Adaptec Storage Manager stores this information in a file along with the host
  52.     name so you do not have to type your user name and password every time you
  53.     run the Adaptec Storage Manager.<br>
