  15. <p>When you click <b>Blink</b> for an object in the <a href="cusegui3.htm">Enterprise view
  16.  </a> or <a href="cusegui4.htm">Physical devices view</a>, the Adaptec Storage Manager
  17.   makes the hardware light associated with the selected object <b>flash</b>. </p>
  18. <p>Depending on what you clicked, you can identify the following: </p>
  19. <ul>
  20.   <li>A drive</li>
  21.   <li>All drives </li>
  22.   <li>A channel of drives </li>
  23.   <li>A logical device </li>
  24.   <li>All logical devices</li>
  25.   <li>An enclosure</li>
  26. </ul>
  27. <p>You can make only one selection at a time. The hardware will continue flashing
  28.   until you click <b>OK</b> in the message window. </p>
  29. <p>Blink works only on controllers with a <a href="gsaf-te.htm">SAF-TE</a>
  30.   processor and the appropriate firmware. The processor uses a SCSI ID; therefore,
  31.   it is displayed in the Physical devices view as the following:</p>

  34. <p>If a device light or a series of device lights do not flash, it is because
  35.   all or part of the subsystem is not controlled by a SAF-TE processor. </p>
  36. <p>For example, if SCSI channel 1 has a SAF-TE processor, but SCSI channel 3 does
  37.   not, and you select to Blink all physical drives, only SCSI channel 1 will
  38.   flash. </p>
  39. <p>Blink is particularly useful for enclosures.
  40.   You can use Blink to clarify which drives in the enclosure you need to work
  41.   with, before you pull them out of the enclosure.</p>
  42. <p> If a SAF-TE processor is present and the controller supports device identification,
  43.   you can identify the components by doing the following:</p>
