  9. <P>If you have <A href="aexpldcc.htm">increased the size of a logical device</A>,
  10. you can extend the partition on that logical device to use the newly added
  11. space.</P>

  27.   <LI>After completing "Increase logical device space," shut down and restart the
  28.   %SERVER%.<BR><BR>
  29.   <LI>In the lower-left corner of the desktop, click <B>Start</B> <IMG height=10

  31.   <IMG height=10 src="images/menuarow.gif" width=32 align=absBottom

  34.   Management window opens.<BR><BR>
  35.   <LI>Right-mouse click the volume and click <B>Extend Volume</B>. <BR><BR>
  36.   <LI>Follow the Extend Volume wizard instructions. </LI></OL>

  41.     <LI>You <B>cannot</B> extend the following types of volumes:

  43.       <LI>Striped
  44.       <LI>Mirrored
  45.       <LI>RAID level-5
  46.       <LI>FAT or FAT32 format
  47.       <LI>System
  48.       <LI>Startup (boot)
  49.       <LI>Simple or extended volumes that were upgraded from basic to dynamic.
  50.       <BR><BR></LI></UL>
  51.     <LI>You can extend a volume only if the volume is formatted using NTFS
  52.     <B>or</B> does not contain a file system.<BR><BR>
  53.     <LI>You can extend a simple or extended volume only if the volume was
  54.     created as a dynamic volume.<BR><BR>
  55.     <LI>You can extend a simple volume if the extension will occur within its
  56.     original physical drive <B>or</B> onto additional physical drives.<BR><BR>
  57.     <LI>After a volume is extended onto multiple drives (spanned), it cannot be
  58.     mirrored or striped.<BR><BR>
  59.     <LI>You can extend simple and spanned volumes on dynamic disks onto a
  60.     maximum of 32 dynamic disks.<BR><BR>
  61.     <LI>After a spanned volume is extended, you cannot delete any portion of the
  62.     volume without deleting the entire spanned volume. <BR><BR></LI></OL></DD></DL>
