  18. <p>If Build initialization is not supported on your controller, you must use this
  19.   action to manually compute parity data for <b>new</b> RAID level-5 and 50 logical devices
  20.   after you create them. </p>
  21.  
  22. <p>If background consistency check is disabled or your controller firmware does not support
  23.   background consistency check, consider using this action weekly to check redundant logical devices
  24.   for inconsistent or bad data.</p>

  27. You can also use <a href="averifyld.htm">Verify</a> to check redundant logical devices for bad data.
  28. Verify is similar to Verify with fix, except
  29.   that the Adaptec Storage Manager does not repair the drive if bad data is found.</p>

  31. <p> Verification can be a lengthy operation. You cannot perform any other actions
  32.   on the controller until the verification is completed. You can verify the logical
  33.   drive immediately or schedule it for another time. You can also schedule the
  34.   verification as a recurring task. A recurring task starts at the initial start
  35.   time, then runs periodically according to the given interval: the same time
  36.   each day, the same time each week, or the same time each month.</p>
  37. <p><IMG height=17 src="images/note.gif" width=15><B> Note:</B> You cannot perform
  38.   any other actions on the controller until the verification is completed. For
  39.   example, you cannot schedule a verification if another logical device verification
  40.   is in progress.</p>
  41. <h2>An example</h2>
  42. <p>You schedule a verification task with an initial start time of Sunday, December
  43.   21, 2003 at 2:00 AM. It recurs weekly. It will run again on Sunday December
  44.   28, 2003 at 2:00 AM.</p>

  46.   off the %SERVER% while verification is in progress.</p>
