This CDROM is a copy of the Internet's Public Ada Library (PAL) in
November 1994. With 1.1 GB of documentation, information, source
code, and ready-to-run tools and compilers, this two-disk set is a
valuable resource for any serious Ada programmer.
You get:
* GWU Ada/Ed, NYU Ada/Ed, and SmallAda Ada83 compilers, including
ready-to-run binaries for MSDOS and Mac and source code
* GNAT 1.81 & 1.82. GNAT is the GNU NYU Ada9X Translator sponsored
by the Free Software Foundation and DoD's Ada Joint Program Office.
You get ready-to-run ports of GNAT for Solaris, SunOS, Linux, HP,
OS/2, and MSDOS.
* Several PC VGA animated presentations describing the Public Ada
Library and this CDROM. These animations will help you learn how to
use the catalogs and databases on the CDROM.
* 160 MB of Ada83 and Ada9X information. Included are hypertext
versions of the Ada83 Reference Manual and interactive readers (VT100
compatable) for the Ada83 and Ada9X Reference Manuals.
* 40 Ada, Software Engineering, Domain Engineering, OOD, and OOP
courses, and 200 technical reports.
* Ada Bindings (to X11, GKS, POSIX, SQL, and others) and Interfaces
(ASIS, IRDS, PCIS), 300 reusable Ada software components, and 50 Ada
software development tools.
* Software for Ada compiler evaluation and benchmarks (including the
ACES, ACVC, Hartstone, and PIWG).
* A catalog of the Public Ada Library (1,200 pages covering this
CDROM). This is an interactive Card Catalog of the Library (written
in Ada and precompiled for MSDOS) that allows you to browse through
the catalog using a terminal or PC, and database files designed for
use by Lotus-123 or DBase IV.
We used the Certifier_1 tool (also available in binary on this CDROM)
to certify the software on this CDROM.
This disk is in ISO-9660 with Rock Ridge extensions. You can read it
on 30 platforms, including MSDOS, Sun, and HP. Ada users should not
be without this library!
