SelectHack adds a much-needed function to your Pilot or PalmPilot. Simply double-tap on a word in any application that lets you edit text. SelectHack will automatically select the whole word for you. A triple-tap will select an entire paragraph.
SelectHack is, of course, a "hack". That mean you'll need a copy of HackMaster to run it. HackMaster is an application that lets you use various hacks to enhance your Pilot or PalmPilot. You can find it at http://www.1stresource.com/~mistered/hackmstr.htm
SelectHack is also Shareware. You can use it on a trial basis for free, and you can even give copies to your Pilot-using friends to try. But if you decide to keep using SelectHack, you must register it by sending a measly $5.00 (US) to:

Registration entitles you to all future version of SelectHack, and generally enhances your karma.
Keep in mind that HackMaster itself is also Shareware, and you should register it with Daggerware if you haven't already.
USING SELECTHACK
Load SelectHack onto your PalmPilot like any other application. When you launch the HackMaster application, it should list SelectHack along with any other hacks you have installed. Tap the checkbox next to SelectHack to activate it.
To change the way SelectHack works, launch HackMaster and tap on the "plus" sign next to SelectHack. Follow the instructions on the screen.
To disable SelectHack, just "uncheck" its checkbox from within HackMaster. You MUST disable it before deleting it from your PalmPilot.

USING QUICKTEXT?
QuickText is a commercial application from Landware (part of their QuickPac suite). It also relies on a double-tap to activate, so if you want to use it with SelectHack, you'll have to set SelectHack's tap speed to "slow". Again, you can do this by tapping on the + next to SelectHack in the HackMaster application.
Now, a quick double-tap will call up QuickText, while a slower double-tap will invoke SelectHack. I personally haven't tried this, but several Pilot users have e-mailed me with assurance that this works like a charm.
