  7. To use:
  8.  
  9. 1) Launch "unshar"
  10. 2) select "Extract"
  11. 3) choose a shar archive that you've downloaded
  12.    (must be a text file).
  13. 4) select a FOLDER in which to store the extracted files
  14. 5) pick next archive or quit
  15.  
  16. For batch unsharing:
  17.  
  18. 1) under 7.0, select a group of files (must be TEXT files)
  19.    and drop them into unshar when the appl's icon is
  20.    highlighted.
  21. 2) under pre-7.0 systems, select the TEXT files and the appl
  22.    itself, then choose "Open" from the file menu.
  23.  
  24. Of course, if the file isn't a shar archive, ...
  25.    
  26. Not all shar files can be processed by this application,
  27. but it will work for the ones in the sumex archives and
  28. those in comp.binaries.mac.

  34. Notes for hackers:
  35.  
  36. The same source file can be used for both MPW and Think C.
  37. For use with Think C, you need
  38.   a) TC 4.0.4 or later (for use on 7.0)
  39.   b) the header files distributed on the 7.0B4 CD
  40.   c) TransSkel (from sumex)
  41. If you use the header files distributed with TC 4.0, you may find
  42. things like "FileFilterProcPtr" not defined. Just typedef them to
  43. ProcPtrs and it should compile. Also look at the comment about
  44. LOWMEM vars near the top of the file.

  46. For MPW, use the unshar.make that is provided; you can use the
  47. Build command in the Build menu. I used MPW 3.2, but I think it'll
  48. compile under 3.1 as well.
