  20.       Microsoft Windows or Windows for Workgroups V3.1 or V3.11,
  21.       or Windows 95.
  22.       TimeRuler cannot run on any earlier version of Windows.

  24.   Installation Instructions
  25.  
  26.       1. Backup your TimeRuler distribution diskette/ZIP file before you
  27.          install TimeRuler.
  28.  
  29.          You can do this by using the MS-DOS DISKCOPY command if you
  30.          received TimeRuler on a diskette, or by using the MS-DOS COPY
  31.          command if you received TimeRuler in some other way - such as from
  32.          a bulletin board etc. For more information on using either of
  33.          these commands, please refer to your MS-DOS User's Guide.

  35.       2. Place the backup copy of your TimeRuler diskette into your
  36.          computer's floppy drive and choose RUN from the Program Manager
  37.          FILE menu (or its equivalent if you are using a different shell).
  38.  
  39.       3. Type A:\INSTALL (or B:\INSTALL) and click on OK in the FILE/RUN
  40.          dialog box.
  41.  
  42.       4. Follow the installation instructions on the the screen.
  43.  
  44.       Note: Please keep TIMERULE.EXE and TIMERULE.HLP in the
  45.             same directory, and do not rename either of these files.

  47.   Running TimeRuler
  48.  
  49.       Start TimeRuler by double-clicking on the TimeRuler icon in Program
  50.       Manager (or its equivalent) to run the program. Once TimeRuler has
  51.       started up, you can get to its main dialog as follows:
  52.  
  53.       - Click on the TimeRuler display, and hold the mouse button down
  54.         until the dialog appears, or
  55.  
  56.       - If you are using the keyboard, use Alt+TAB repeatedly until the
  57.         focus is on the TimeRuler window (this is a standard Windows key
  58.         combination), and the press Enter to bring up the main dialog.
  59.  
  60.       Once TimeRuler is running, you can get comprehensive on-line
  61.       help simply by pressing the Help button in any of the dialogs.

  65.   Installation Error Messages
  66.  
  67.       THE FILE XXXXXX.XXX IS NEEDED FOR INSTALLATION, BUT COULD NOT BE
  68.       FOUND, WHICH MEANS THAT PRODUCT INSTALLATION CANNOT BE COMPLETED.
  69.         Contact your support provider, or the author at the address
  70.         given below.

  72.       THE INSTALL PROGRAM WAS NOT ABLE TO CREATE THE DIRECTORY XXXXXX.
  73.         Please check that you have specified a valid disk letter, and
  74.         that the syntax is correct.

  76.       THE INSTALL PROGRAM WAS UNABLE TO INSTALL THE FILE XXXXXX.XXX,
  77.       WHICH MEANS THAT PRODUCT INSTALLATION CANNOT BE COMPLETED.

  81.       THE INSTALL PROGRAM WAS UNABLE TO SET UP THE PROGRAM MANAGER
  82.       GROUP, WHICH MEANS THAT PRODUCT INSTALLATION CANNOT BE COMPLETED.

  86.       THE INSTALL PROGRAM HAS BEEN CORRUPTED, WHICH MEANS THAT PRODUCT

  103.       If you still cannot find the information you need to get
  104.       TimeRuler started, you may request support as follows:

  121.       When requesting support, please supply the following information:

  123.       * the product name and version number. You can obtain these from
  124.         the About command in TimeRuler's main dialog.
  125.  
  126.       * the serial number of your copy of TimeRuler. This is an
  127.         8-character string appearing in the About box.
  128.  
  129.       * a precise description of the problem, and the circumstances
  130.         that cause it to occur.
  131.  
  132.   Registering TimeRuler
  133.  
  134.       The evaluation period for an unregistered copy of TimeRuler starts
  135.       at the time it is first installed, and lasts 30 days. After this
  136.       time, you must either register it (use the form below), or delete
  137.       it from your system. If you prefer, you may register TimeRuler
  138.       online on CompuServe Information Service. Just GO SWREG and
  139.       follow the instructions. The registration ID for TimeRuler is
  140.       3369.

  142.       When you register, you will be able to define up to 100 reminders
  143.       (the limit before you register is 10), you will be able to play WAV
  144.       file sounds for alarms and chimes, the repeating alarm feature will
  145.       be available, and you won't get any more nag screens!
