Installation Instructions
Note: You may use Windows 3.0 if you have installed VER.DLL,
COMMDLG.DLL and WINHELP.EXE (V3.1) in your Windows
directories. These can be supplied if needed.
1. Backup your BioGraf distribution diskette/ZIP file before you
install BioGraf.
You can do this by using the MS-DOS DISKCOPY command if you
received BioGraf on a diskette, or by using the MS-DOS COPY
command if you received BioGraf in some other way - such as from
a bulletin board etc. For more information on using either of
these commands, please refer to your MS-DOS User's Guide.
2. Place the backup copy of your BioGraf diskette into your
computer's floppy drive and choose RUN from the Program Manager
FILE menu (or its equivalent if you are using a different shell).
3. Type A:\INSTALL (or B:\INSTALL) and click on OK in the FILE/RUN
dialog box.
4. Follow the installation instructions on the the screen.
Note: Please keep BIOGRAF.EXE, BIOGRAF.DAT and BIOGRAF.HLP in the
same directory, and do not rename any of these files.
Running BioGraf
Start BioGraf by double-clicking on the BioGraf icon in Program
Manager (or its equivalent) to run the program. Once BioGraf has
started up, you should be able to use the People command to set up a
personal biorhythm display.
A Note on the Iconized Display
One of BioGraf's many features is its dynamic iconized display,
which shows the current state of your biorhythms. This iconized
display is NOT the same as the icon that sits in Program Manager
(or its equivalent) before the program is running.

To get the iconized display, start BioGraf as usual, then click
on the minimize button in the top right hand corner of the window.
If you exit from BioGraf while the display is minimized, then the
program will start up in an iconized state again next time you use
it. If you don't want it to start up in a minimized state, simply
make sure you exit from it while it's not minimized.
On-line Help and the User's Guide
BioGraf uses the Windows Help system to provide on-line information
as and when you need it. This information, although concise, is
ideal for jogging your memory on specific commands. When you
register BioGraf, you will receive a full 38-page printed and bound
User's Guide, with a special section discussing the nature and
meaning of biorhythms.
You can get help in BioGraf by clicking on the Help button, or by
typing <H>.
There is also a quicker way to get help: press the <F1> key, or
click the right mouse button. This will normally take you straight
to the main index, but if you are in a dialog box or status window,
it will give you help related to what you are doing.
Installation Error Messages
THE FILE XXXXXX.XXX IS NEEDED FOR INSTALLATION, BUT COULD NOT BE
FOUND, WHICH MEANS THAT PRODUCT INSTALLATION CANNOT BE COMPLETED.
Contact your support provider, or the author at the address
given at the beginning of this file.
THE INSTALL PROGRAM WAS NOT ABLE TO CREATE THE DIRECTORY XXXXXX.
Please check that you have specified a valid disk letter, and
that the syntax is correct.
THE INSTALL PROGRAM WAS UNABLE TO INSTALL THE FILE XXXXXX.XXX,
WHICH MEANS THAT PRODUCT INSTALLATION CANNOT BE COMPLETED.
Contact your support provider, or the author at the address
given at the beginning of this file.
THE INSTALL PROGRAM WAS UNABLE TO SET UP THE PROGRAM MANAGER
GROUP, WHICH MEANS THAT PRODUCT INSTALLATION CANNOT BE COMPLETED.

THE INSTALL PROGRAM HAS BEEN CORRUPTED, WHICH MEANS THAT PRODUCT

Delete some unwanted files and then try again.
THIS COPY OF BIOGRAF HAS EXPIRED
Unregistered copies of BioGraf will display this message about
18 months after release. This alerts you to the possibility that
you are not using the latest version containing the most recent
improvements and new features. The program will continue to
function normally, but you are advised to get a more up-to-date
copy.
Registered copies of BioGraf do not display this message. When
you register your copy of BioGraf you will automatically
receive details of all subsequent major releases.
YOUR SYSTEM DOES NOT APPEAR TO HAVE A VALID COPY OF VER.DLL,
WHICH MEANS THAT PRODUCT INSTALLATION CANNOT BE COMPLETED.

If you have read the Troubleshooting section, and still cannot
get BioGraf to work at all, you may request support as follows:

When requesting support, please supply the following information:
* the product name, version number and release number. You can
obtain these from the About command in BioGraf's control menu.
* the serial number of your copy of BioGraf. This is an
8-character string appearing in the About box.
* a precise description of the problem, and the circumstances
that cause it to occur.
Registering BioGraf
The evaluation period for an unregistered copy of BioGraf starts
at the time it is first installed, and lasts 30 days. After this
time, you must either register it (use the form below), or delete
it from your system. If you prefer, you may register BioGraf
online on CompuServe Information Service. Just GO SWREG and
follow the instructions. The registration ID for BioGraf is 195.
