  4. This is a DELPHINE SOFTWARE game.

  8. *) INSTALLATION
  9.  
  10. Put the CDROM in a CDROM drive and run the INSTALL command.
  11.  
  12.  
  13. INSTALL install the minimum files, and you need to have the CDROM in 
  14. drive to play the game. Space necessary on hard disk drive : 12 Mb.
  15.  
  16.  
  17. If you have a sound card, run SETSOUND after installation of the game.
  18.

  21. WARNING :     The destination directory must be a single directory like
  22.         F2B or DEMO, and must not be like GAME\F2B or DEMO\F2B.

  27. *) STARTING THE GAME

  29. To start the game, type in the command F2B from the installation directory 
  30. on your hard disk.

  32. If you have saved games, you won't see the starting cinematic scene.
  33. If you want to see it, remove your saved games (*.SAV) or move them 
  34. to another directory.

  202. You have two mouse modes :

  204. ICON mode and PRO mode.

  206. In play mode, you can switch at any time between the two mode by
  207. pressing G key

  212. In general, right mouse button is used to return to PLAY MODE.

  214. In icon mode, you can drag icon by pressing Left Shift and Left button.

  216. Left Alt + Left button on icon : reduce icon size

  218. To read a message or view an object in inventory, left click in the wheel
  219. beetwin the hands of Conrad.

  221. In play mode, right mouse button not on an icon is used to take your 
  222. gun out and fire. Click left mouse button and your can turn left or right.

  228. Left button :    Walk if you where standing up
  229.         Operate lever, cupboard/cabinet, teleporter if you double click
  230.         with gun in.
  231.         Fire if you are in gun out mode (reload if no munition left)

  233. Right button :    Run if you are walking
  234.         Gun out / gun in otherwise
  235.  
  236. If you are in gun out mode, to start to run quickly, you can press the 
  237. right mouse button to get your gun in and then press the left key 
  238. without releasing the right button.

  240. If you are in run mode you can take your gun out quikly by releasing the left
  241. mouse button before the right one.

  249. Go to joystick menu in main menu to calibrate joystick before activating
  250. joystick.

  252. Press Ctrl J to desactivate joystick during game.

  254. When you restart game, you need to recalibrate joystick before activating it.

  256. Button 1 : Like keyboard space key or 
  257.        Fire if gun out (reload if no munition left).

  262. If you move joystick left or right, conrad turn left or right.

  269. If you have a Thrustmaster joystick, or Gravis Phoenix, or similar one, you
  270. can program the extra buttons of your joystick as you like to emulate
  271. keyboard keys.

  295. *) MEMORY PROBLEMS
  296.  
  297. If you have an out of memory error try to run VIRT_F2B, it's a little slower 
  298. and you need 8 Mb free on your hard disk for virtual memory, but you won't 
  299. have any more memory error.

  301. INST_FUL copy all the files and you won't need to have the DEMO cdrom in drive
  302. to play the game. Space necessary on hard disk drive : 45 Mb.
  303.  
  304. If you have no sound card, you can delete the following directory from
  305. your hard disk (if you need space) :
  306.  
  307.     DATA\SOUND\*.*
  308.     DATA\DRIVERS\*.*
  309.     
  310. If you delete these sound files, the minimum demo will take less 
  311. than 4 Mb on your hard disk drive.

  316. *) OTHER PROBLEMS
  317.

  319. If you hear no sound :
  320.  
  321. - run SETSOUND
  322. - activate the sounds by pressing Ctrl S during the PLAY MODE.
  323.  
  324. If you cannot turn left or right with joystick :
  325.  
  326. - desactivate mouse if you are in icon mode or change to pro mode to
  327.   continue playing with joystick.
  328.  
  329. - In the file config.sys the line FILES must be at least 40.
  330.
