  1. Novell Expands NetWare v3.11 Premium to Current Users of NetWare v3.11
  2. with "Premium Upgrade for NetWare v3.11" Promotion

  7. PROVO, Utah -- July 21, 1992 -- Novell today announced it would expand the
  8. NetWare v3.11 Premium promotion announced last March to include existing
  9. users of NetWare v3.11.  Called Premium Upgrade for NetWare v3.11 and
  10. available through the end of October, 1992, the new promotion offers
  11. existing users of NetWare v3.11 a suite of services that include software
  12. maintenance and NetWare management as well as upgrade protection to
  13. NetWare v4.0. Due to customer request, the NetWare v3.11 Premium promotion
  14. announced in March for new customers of NetWare v3.11 and originally
  15. slated to run through the end of July, 1992, is being extended through
  16. October 31, 1992.

  18. In a related move, Novell announced that another promotion for customers
  19. upgrading to NetWare v3.11 initiated in March and known as the NetWare
  20. v3.11 Upgrade promotion will also be extended until the end of October. 
  21. The NetWare v3.11 Upgrade promotion ensures customers who upgrade to
  22. NetWare v3.11 from NetWare v2.x, other manufacturers' networking products,
  23. or from smaller user versions of NetWare v3.11 will receive upgrade
  24. protection to NetWare v4.0.

  26. The Premium Upgrade for NetWare v3.11 promotion for current users, as well
  27. as the NetWare v3.11 Premium and NetWare v3.11 Upgrade promotions are
  28. programs designed to protect customer investment in NetWare v3.11 by
  29. offering upgrades to NetWare v4.0.

  32. signal to us of the importance of protecting a customer's investment in
  33. NetWare and the advisability of extending and expanding these promotions,
  34. " said Bob Young, director of marketing for Novell's NetWare Products
  35. Division.  "By expanding upgrade protection and offering services such as
  36. software maintenance and management tools to the installed base of NetWare
  37. v3.11 customers as well as new buyers, we ensure that all our NetWare
  38. v3.11 customers not only get the most out of their current NetWare v3.11
  39. products, but also are protected as we move toward the release of NetWare
  40. v4.0 later this year."

  42. Premium Upgrade for NetWare v3.11 Promotion

  44. Existing customers of NetWare v3.11 can now receive as a part of the
  45. Premium Upgrade for NetWare v3.11 promotion:

  47.  ■   Ongoing upgrade protection to NetWare v4.x through July of 1993.
  48.  
  49.  ■   NSE Online (formerly called NetWare Software Maintenance) -- Novell's
  50.      new worldwide online information service that provides instant access
  51.      to the latest fixes and enhancements for NetWare products between
  52.      releases.

  54.  ■   NetWare Management Map for OS/2 -- Automatically discovers all
  55.      IPX/SPX nodes on a network, creates an on-screen graphical display
  56.      and interactive database of the entire internet, and provides a
  57.      platform for developing and launching third-party management
  58.      applications.

  60.  ■   NetWare Management Agents -- The agents run on any NetWare v3.11
  61.      server and are necessary for the server to be fully managed by the
  62.      NetWare Services Manager (sold separately for both OS/2 or Windows
  63.      environments).

  67. Orders for the three promotions: Premium Upgrade for NetWare v3.11,
  68. NetWare v3.11 Premium and NetWare v3.11 Upgrade are being taken now and
  69. all products are currently shipping.  For more information about these
