  17. This file contains SYSCON.EXE v3.68 for NetWare 3.11 and v2.2.  The file
  18. corrects a problem accessing mail directories when the file server name has
  19. a period and is more than eight characters.  The file also corrects a
  20. problem of losing data when the Trustee Directory Assignment is made with a
  21. forward slash instead of a back slash.

  42. This README file accompanies SYSCON.EXE v3.68 for NetWare v3.11 and v2.2. 
  43. The following files are included with this release:

  45. Purpose:
  46. SYSCON would fail to find the supervisor and guest mail directories on 286
  47. servers which contained a dot in the name if the servername was longer than
  48. 8 characters.  For example syscon would fail if a server was named 
  49. OR.MORECHARES but would work if it was named OR2.2  This new SYSCON also
  50. fixes a problem of data and directories being deleted.  This occurs when
  51. accessing "Trustee Directory Assignments" under "User Information" in the
  52. SYSCON utility. If an attempt is made to add rights to a user for a
  53. specific directory, and that directory pathname is entered incorrectly,
  54. with a forward slash following the colon after the volume name (i.e.
  55. SERVER/SYS:/PUBLIC/DOS), all data in that directory is lost.

  59. 1)    Flag SYSCON.EXE in the public directory to SRW.

  61. 2)    Copy SYSCON.EXE from the public directory to a diskette for backup
  62. purposes.

  64. 3)    Copy this version of SYSCON.EXE to the public directory.

  66. 4)    Flag SYSCON.EXE in the public directory to SRO.
