  17. This file is for NetWare 3.11 and v2.2.  The file fixes a problem found
  18. with real-mode external routers.  In v2.2 and v3.11, the dedicated
  19. real-mode external router does not have a PS/2 flag variable for drivers
  20. that require the PS/2 flag.

  39. This fix is intended for NetWare v3.11 and v2.2, and fixes a problem found
  40. with real-mode external routers.  In v2.2 and v3.11, the dedicated
  41. real-mode external router does not have a PS/2 flag variable for drivers
  42. that require the PS/2 flag.  This flag is set if the machine is
  43. microchannel so that the driver polling the flag can see if it needs to
  44. read the POS registers on the microchannel machine for the board settings. 
  45. If the flag is clear then the machine must be ISA bus.

  47. The existing code for the real-mode router does not check for microchannel
  48. machines.  As a result, when a user attempts to GEN a real-mode router with
  49. a driver that requires the PS/2 flag, the error message: "UNRESOLVED
  50. EXTERNAL" appears, and the router will not link.
  51.  
  52. This new DRROUTER.OBJ checks for microchannel machines.
  53.  
  54. Installation:
  55.  
  56. 1) Make a backup copy of the DRROUTER.OBJ file that exists on the ROUTEGEN
  57. diskette. Additionally, make a backup copy of the existing ROUTER.EXE.
  58.  
  59. 2) Copy this file, DRROUTER.OBJ over the existing DRROUTER.OBJ on the
  60. ROUTEGEN diskette.
  61.  
  62. 3) With the ROUTEGEN diskette inserted, execute ROUTEGEN to create a new
  63. ROUTER.EXE that contains this fix.
  64.  
  65. 4) After running ROUTEGEN, copy this new ROUTER.EXE to the existing boot
  66. disk, (floppy or hard disk).

  68. 5) Reboot the router workstation.
