  32. SYMPTOM:
  33.  
  34. Symptoms for PSERVER.NLM:
  35.     1. Printing will stop with jobs still in the queue(s) in an
  36. active state. This symptom was seen with PSERVER versions prior
  37. to         4.10.
  38.     2. Some of the bindery related print server API's were not
  39. supported in versions of PSERVER.NLM prior to the included             
  40. 4.11 version.  This would be evident in some 3rd party printing
  41. applications.

  43.  Symptoms for NPRINTER.EXE:
  44.     1. When NPRINTER.EXE is loaded, the form feed (or buffer)
  45. indicator at the attached printer lights.  This is true only for            
  46. parallel connected printers. (The shipping 4.1 NPRINTER.EXE (ver
  47. 4.10)does not have this problem).

  49. TROUBLESHOOTING
  50.  
  51. If the print server is unloaded and reloaded the print jobs in
  52. the queue(s) will resume printing.
  53.  
  54. CAUSE
  55.  
  56. ECBs not being released for further use.
  57.  
  58.  Whatever character that happens to be in the parallel pert
  59. transmit buffer is strobed into the printer's receive buffer
  60. during the initialization of NPRINTER.
  61.  
  62. SOLUTION: 
  63.  
  64. Apply the files in the self-extracting file PS4X03.EXE.

  79. 1. Save the current PSERVER.NLM in the SYSTEM directory and copy
  80. the included PSERVER.NLM.

  82.  2. Unload the PSERVER and load the new PSERVER.

  88.  1. Flag the current NPRINTER read\write and rename it to a .old
  89. file.

  91.  2. Copy the new NPRINTER to the Public directory or the
  92. directory from which the utility is run.
