README FOR NDIR.EXE v3.45
This README file accompanies NDR345.EXE.
Purpose:
This new version of NDIR.EXE v3.45 is intended to replace any previous
version of NetWare NDIR.EXE utility included with NetWare v3.11, v2.2.
This new NDIR.EXE fixes a problem found with previous versions of NDIR.EXE.
The problem was that when running NetWare v2.2, effective rights for
directories would not be reported with the NDIR /rights option. This
update fixes this problem.
This new NDIR.EXE also fixes the following: when running NDIR on a 64K
block volume, it will report "0 bytes in n blocks." The block size was
being truncated, and the 64K volume size value was lost.
This version of NDIR.EXE also fixes a problem of the directory owner's name
printing as garbage on the screen if the name is more than 12 characters
long. The owner name will now be terminated after 13 characters.
This new NDIR.EXE fixes a problem that occurs when the user tries to use
NDIR with the "#" symbol as the second character of the file to be searched
for. An example would be NDIR ?#*.*. This results in the displayed error
message: "A forward slash(/) must precede the first element of the option
list .."
Installation:
1) Make a backup copy of the original NDIR.EXE.
2) Then copy this new file of NDIR.EXE over the original version.
