  29. SYMPTOM
  30.  
  31.      IRWASM.NLM fails to load under the following circumstances.
  32.  
  33.      If Routing and Service filtering is enabled through the INETCFG utility
  34.      or by loading the SAPCFG utility from the console prompt and IPX WAN
  35.      operation is not configured (default in INETCFG), IRWASM.NLM does not
  36.      load and displays the following message:
  37.  
  38.      MESSAGE
  39.  
  40.           IRWASM.NLM has NOT loaded.
  41.           IRWASM:
  42.           Unable to read IPX WAN configuration record. Ensure that IPX has
  43.           been configured for WAN access.
  44.  
  45.      If IPX WAN support has been enabled but no network numbers have been
  46.      configured, IRWASM.NLM does not load and displays the following message:
  47.  
  48.           IRWASM.NLM has NOT loaded.
  49.           IRWASM:
  50.                The IRWASM requires at least one network number to be
  51.                configured for WAN links before it will load.
  52.  
  53. SOLUTION
  54.  
  55.      This update fixes a problem with the filtering of IPX(tm) RIP packets and
  56.      IPX SAP packets with the NetWare MultiProtocol Router(tm) 2.11 software
  57.      and the NetWare MultiProtocol Router PLUS(tm) 2.11 software.
  58.  
  59.      IRWASM has been updated to load properly when it is required for
  60.      filtering.  If filtering is configured and IPX WAN operation is not
  61.      configured (default in INETCFG), the following message is displayed:

  63.      MESSAGE
  64.  
  65.           IRWASM:
  66.           WAN operation for IPX is disabled.
  67.           IPX WAN support has not been enabled in INETCFG.
  68.  
  69.      If IPX WAN support has been enabled but no network numbers have been
  70.      configured, the following message is displayed:

  72.      MESSAGE
  73.  
  74.           IRWASM:
  75.           WAN operation for IPX is disabled.
  76.           IRWASM requires at least one network number to be configured in
  77.           INETCFG for WAN links to operate.

  89.      To install the new IRWASM.NLM file, do the following steps:
  90.  
  91.      1.   Copy IRWASM.NLM from this PTF to a diskette.
  92.  
  93.      2.   Go to the router and load INETCFG from the console prompt.
  94.  
  95.      3.   Select the LAN & WAN Boards option.
  96.  
  97.      4.   Press <Ins> to add a new board.
  98.  
  99.      5.   Press <Ins> to add a board not on the list.
  100.  
  101.      6.   Type A:IRWASM or B:IRWASM, depending on the drive in which you
  102.           inserted the diskette.
  103.  
  104.           ** NOTE ** This copies the new IRWASM.NLM to SYS:SYSTEM but DOES NOT
  105.           add an entry for a new board.
  106.  
  107.      7.   Press <Esc> three times and select YES to exit.
  108.  
  109.           This replaces the old IRWASM.NLM file with the new version from this
  110.           PTF.
  111.  
  112.      To restore the old version, do the following steps:
  113.  
  114.      1.   Obtain the MPR-2 diskette from NetWare MultiProtocol Router 2.11
  115.           software or NetWare MultiProtocol Router PLUS 2.11 software.
  116.  
  117.      2.   Go to the router and load INETCFG from the console prompt.
  118.  
  119.      3.   Select the LAN & WAN Boards option.
  120.  
  121.      4.   Press <Ins> to add a new board.
  122.  
  123.      5.   Press <Ins> to add a board not on the list.
  124.  
  125.      6.   Type A:IPX\IRWASM or B:IPX\IRWASM, depending on the drive in which
  126.           you inserted the diskette.

  128.           ** NOTE ** This copies the new IRWASM.NLM to SYS:SYSTEM but DOES NOT
