  12. This file corrects a problem with previous versions of
  13. MONITOR.NLM for NetWare 3.11 that could cause a General
  14. Protection Processor Exception (GPPE) on the server.  The GPPE
  15. would generally occur when MONITOR was loaded for extended
  16. periods of time.  This file keeps the console locked in cases
  17. such as PSERVER being unloaded remotely through PCONSOLE.

  48.  This README file of MON176.EXE accompanies MONITOR.NLM v1.76 for
  49. NetWare v3.11 v3.12.
  50.  
  51.  This file (MONITOR.NLM v1.76) includes a fix to keep the console
  52. locked in MONITOR under all conditions. In previous versions of
  53. MONITOR if an application such as the PServer was unloaded
  54. remotely via PCONSOLE it would cause the console to unlock.

  56.  This file (MONITOR.NLM v1.76) corrects a problem seen in
  57. previous versions of MONITOR.NLM.  These previous versions could
  58. cause a "General Protection Processor Exception (GPPE) running
  59. process Monitor Background process" error on the server.  This
  60. would generally occur when MONITOR was loaded for extended
  61. periods of time (30 days or so) and was caused by resource
  62. contention between the foreground and background processes of
  63. MONITOR.  This version supercedes previous versions and includes
  64. all such fixes.

  66.  To install MONITOR.NLM v1.76 complete the following
  67. instructions:
  68.  
  69.       (note,  unload MONITOR at the console)

  71.  1)   Flag MONITOR.NLM as N (Normal) in the SYS:SYSTEM directory.

  73.  2)   Rename the existing copy of MONITOR.NLM to MONITOR.OLD for
  74. backup purposes.
  75.  
  76.  3)   Copy this new version of MONITOR.NLM to the SYS:SYSTEM
  77. directory.

  79.  4)   Flag the new copy of MONITOR.NLM back to SRO (Sharable Read
  80. Only).

  82.  5)   Type LOAD MONITOR at the console.
