  42. This README file accompanies ZAPOBJ for SFT NetWare v2.15c.
  43.  
  44. ZAPOBJ allows a removable read/write drive to be added to a system with
  45. existing mirrored or duplexed drives.  ZAPOBJ.EXE is run against a .OBJ
  46. file using a .FIX parameter file.  Parameter files containing temporary
  47. fixes (ie. *.FIX) are supplied for both 3.5" and 5.25" media.
  48.  
  49. To implement ZAPOBJ:
  50.  
  51. 1)    Copy the files included with this patch to a working directory.
  52.  
  53. 2)    For a 3.5" media system, do the following:
  54.  
  55.  a)    Copy SFT.OBJ to the working directory from the SFTOBJ subdirectory
  56. of your INSTALL diskette or hard drive directory.
  57.  
  58.  b)    Copy TTS.OBJ to the working directory from the TTSOBJ subdirectory
  59. of your INSTALL diskette or hard drive directory.
  60.  
  61.  CAUTION: It is strongly recommended that you make backup copies of all
  62. .OBJ files to be patched in this process.
  63.  
  64.  c)    Execute the following commands:
  65.  
  66.             ZAPOBJ SFT.OBJ NEWSFT.OBJ SFT.FIX
  67.            ZAPOBJ TTS.OBJ NEWTTS.OBJ TTS.FIX
  68.  
  69. If ZAPOBJ is successful, a message will be issued to that effect.
  70.  
  71.  d)    Copy NEWSFT.OBJ and NEWTTS.OBJ to the corresponding SFTOBJ and
  72. TTSOBJ subdirectories under INSTALL.  Rename them to SFT.OBJ and TTS.OBJ
  73. respectively.

  75.       OR    For a 5.25" media system, do the following:
  76.  
  77.  a)    Copy SFT_1.OBJ to the working directory from the SFTOBJ subdirectory
  78. of your INSTALL diskette or hard drive directory.
  79.  
  80.  b)    Copy TTS_1.OBJ to the working directory from the TTSOBJ subdirectory
  81. of your INSTALL diskette or hard drive directory.
  82.  
  83.  c)    Copy SFT_2.OBJ and TTS_2.OBJ to the working directory from the OSOBJ
  84. subdirectory of your INSTALL diskette or hard drive directory.
  85.  
  86. CAUTION: It is strongly recommended that you make backup copies of all .OBJ
  87. files to be patched in this process.

  89.  d)    Execute the following commands:

  91.         ZAPOBJ SFT_1.OBJ NEWSFT_1.OBJ SFT_1.FIX
  92.         ZAPOBJ TTS_1.OBJ NEWTTS_1.OBJ TTS_1.FIX
  93.         ZAPOBJ SFT_2.OBJ NEWSFT_2.OBJ SFT_2.FIX
  94.         ZAPOBJ TTS_2.OBJ NEWTTS_2.OBJ TTS_2.FIX
  95.  
  96.  If ZAPOBJ is successful, a message will be issued to that effect.
  97.  
  98.  e)    Copy NEWSFT_1.OBJ and NEWTTS_1.OBJ to the corresponding SFTOBJ and
  99.             TTSOBJ subdirectories under INSTALL.  Rename them to SFT_1.OBJ
  100. and
  101.             TTS_1.OBJ respectively.
  102.  
  103.  f)    Copy NEWSFT_2.OBJ and NEWTTS_2.OBJ to the OSOBJ subdirectory under
  104. INSTALL.  Rename them to SFT_2.OBJ and TTS_2.OBJ respectively.
  105.  
  106. 3)    Execute NETGEN and ensure that the "Link/Configure NetWare Operating
  107. System" option is selected and that NET$OS.EXE is copied to your network
  108. drive during "NetWare Installation".
  109.  
  110. 4)    Boot the server.  The system will indicate that the fix has been
  111. applied by displaying the message "Netware Release for PTF00001".
  112.  
  113. CAUTION: Implement this fix on a low-use or non-production server before
  114. implementing it on all SFT NetWare v2.15c servers in your installation.
