  9. ABSTRACT:

  11. This version of LOGIN.EXE corrects three problems: 1) The "if
  12. member of  <group>" statement in a login script will always
  13. result in a true outcome.  2) Search drives mapped as root drives
  14. are not searched if directory is subsequently changed. 3) Using
  15. the login script DRIVE command caused the drive to be deleted.

  33. SYMPTOM:
  34.  
  35. This version of LOGIN.EXE corrects three problems:
  36.  
  37.  1) If you have groups that are identical except for the last
  38. character, the "if member of <group>" statement in a login script
  39. will result in a true outcome regardless of whether it is, in
  40. fact, true or not.
  41.  
  42.  2) Search drives mapped as root drives are not searched if
  43. directory is subsequently changed. That is, if you map root
  44. S1:=SYS:\PUBLIC then CD to SYS:PUBLIC\UTILS, the UTILS directory
  45. will not be searched. This is a result of the PATH statement
  46. being changed to PATH=Z:. (current directory) instead of PATH=Z:\
  47. (root directory) as was the case in earlier versions of NetWare.

  49.  3) Using the login script DRIVE command caused the drive to be
  50. deleted. Thus,  if the login script contained the line DRIVE F:,
  51. the F: drive would be deleted upon exiting the login script.

  59.  The MAP.EXE which shipped with NetWare 4.10 handles map root
  60. drives as described in symptom #2 above. If you want map to
  61. handle map root drives the same as the is version of LOGIN.EXE,
  62. download MAP412.EXE, which contains:

  82. 1.  Replace the file LOGIN.EXE in the SYS:\LOGIN and SYS:\PUBLIC
  83. directories with the new LOGIN.EXE file.

  85.  2.  Replace the file LOGIN.MSG in the SYS:\LOGIN\NLS\ENGLISH and
  86. SYS:\PUBLIC\NLS\ENGLISH directories with the new LOGIN.MSG file.
