NOVELL TECHNICAL INFORMATION DOCUMENT
TITLE: Document: AIO Hardware Driver Types
README FOR: DAIO1.EXE
NOVELL PRODUCTS and VERSIONS:
NLM SDK for NetWare 4.0 1.0c
ABSTRACT:
This self extracting file contains AIODTYPE.TXT which is a
listing of all the "public" AIO hardware device driver types
(numbers). Although these numbers are issued by Novell Labs to
developers of AIO device drivers, not all the drivers listed have
been certified by Novell Labs.

ISSUE:
AIODTYPE.TXT contains the most recently updated list of AIO
drivers/adapters registered with Novell Labs. The goal is to
give each adapter a unique hardware type, but you will notice
that some vendor's drivers control multiple types of adapters,
and the hardware type represents the driver.
This public list contains records of products which may, or may
not, have been previously certified by Novell Labs. The majority
of asych adapter vendors are represented here, and the program is
fairly mature, so the list is not expected to change much from
here on out.
On the World-Wide-Web (WWW) you may see multiple certifications
of individual adapters ... this is because Novell does not have a
practice of obsoleting old certification bulletins when a new
certification usurps the former. Also, the certification
bulletins describe a 'matched pair' of test elements -
time/version stamped Novell AIO product(s) and vendor
driver/adapter - end users should ensure that the 'tested and
approved' vendor's product they chose to use is appropriate for
their AIO application(s).
